Fair result. Absorbing first half where we played brightly and created a lot of alarms in their back line, particularly down the right via Will Dawes. Everybody looked up for it and on it. Unlike Salisbury, we didn't concede when in control.. but then again couldn't capitalise either.. which is becoming a bit of a theme. Second half. You can see why W-S-M are 4th in the League. They are a big, physical side and they made that count in the last 40 or so minutes. We were pushed off the ball or second at 50/50 s and our frustration showed with Yellow cards for a spate of frustrated challenges and pushes. In Boxing terms, we were 2 Divisions below them in terms of size and weight. I hesitate to say it... but it was an afternoon that we could have done with Luke Russe to add some steel and physicality to the midfield. Their goal came about directly from a pretty uncommitted/half-hearted Chippenham challenge in the middle of the pitch, 5 seconds later the ball was in the back of our net. Leone Gravata looked bright and took his goal. The Parsons mystery continues. Such was Weston's dominance in the last quarter, I don't think HP touched the ball more than 2 or 3 times in his shortish appearance. It would be fascinating to know GH's reasons for starting with MM in the last 2 games...We ain't going to know why, so the vacuum will continue to lead to speculation...One final question: Why on earth don't we leave Parsons or Dawes ( ie pace) up by the centre circle when the opposition have a corner. On several occasions we cleared comfortably from corners and there was no-one there to exploit a one-on-one. However, we did do so for long W-S-M throws into our box.????

It’s so frustrating watching us at the moment. It’s like we are playing with the handbrake on. Poor Harry Parsons scores 3 at Nailsea then dropped to the bench for Salisbury and yesterday. Just shows how disinterested people are, this is the second post and it’s 5pm on Sunday.

Yep, totally agree at the moment we are very boring to watch.
We’ve signed a player who, IMHO the same as Johnson, we are struggling for goals, please play two strikers at home!!
I know 5 or 6 people who don’t bother coming anymore.
The playing style does nothing to change encourage the casual supporter to return.
Go out Tuesday and it’s going to be a long old season.
I’ve said it before, we have gone backwards off the pitch, increased prices, Under 16s having to pay, not-for-value season ticket (only have to miss 4 games).
Although I would say it’s nice to see 4 turnstiles open.

Agree with previous posts. Frustrating and for long parts boring to watch are spot on assessments of what we are viewing. A lot of what goes on is nothing football - its like Chippenham are programmed to wait for something to happen instead of taking any initiative. Sometimes it changes when behind for instance and there is some intent but not nearly enough. As for the thinking with Parsons? Have no idea.Judging by some of the discussion around the ground before, during and afterwards about things - many have a similar viewpoint.

It looked to me that mayhew played a lot further up the pitch against WSM,almost a second striker.Like everyone else can’t understand what is going on with Parsons. We were all over WSM in first and deserved a goal.McClure has a good football brain, but needs someone to feed off of him or we need a 6ft 6 inch striker to lead the attack.Shame AAH is injured, he always adds something to us up front when he comes on. Also again no atmosphere . Hopefully a win on Tuesday and the cup run continues.

If your not happy speak to Gary after the game, he is always very accommodating and willing to engage with all.
We have a superb management team, chairman et all so I would love to see the comments if we spent no money, ground was in rack and ruin.
Yes we could do with more behind the gate but have a word and ask yourself if you could do something to help?

Atmosphere an issue as Simon and all his merry men were banned for the game I was told???

Just watched the highlights WSM number4 was lucky just to get a booking, looked like he went in with studs showing.Poor tackling to let WSM number 15 run half length of pitch for their goal.Dawes looks quality going forward.

What could we do to help the low attendances, you asked, well not ban our most vocal and loyal supporters.
What a silly post.

Compared to our normal negative approach to games l thought yesterday we were more attack minded and got the ball forward a lot quicker. Certainly lot less mucking about at the back. Watching match of the day last night and league highlights lost count of the number of errors playing in and around the penalty area. Quite funny watching it and teams persist with it.
Couldn't understand how the new guy got MOM as apart from scoring the goal, important of course, forgot he was on the pitch. Still his first game so finding his feet l suppose.
Like most other fans totally baffled with what is going on with Harry Parsons. I can't imagine he signed on on the basis of being told you might get 20 minutes game time in most games if you are lucky. We have two proven strikers so why not play them together. How many occasions in the past have you seen two strikers working successfully as a pair. Sandell and Pratt come to mind from our own experience. Maybe too adventurous for our management team as might mean abandoning the boring negative style they persist with.
Comment about the performance of the referee yesterday. I thought for the most part he had a very good game picking up on most things.
