Entertaining and competitive game and far from friendly at times. Quite a few more cards would have been dished out normally.
Would have been nice to see some goals but I thought we were just about on top in the first half with some very nice passing. We got penned in early in the second half and resorted to the playing out from the back tactics we all hated last year which nearly was our undoing. Much more even again later in the second half. Parsons looked like he has a point to prove and a couple of the new faces (trialists?) seemed useful, small number 2 especially impressed me

Good summary of the match. Thought Parsons looked sharp - demanded service up front as well which was good to see. Agree about the number 2 - played well, decent on the ball and got up and down the right. Looked as if he knew the position.

Pretty sure that Number 2 was Jac Poffley from our Under 23s via the Under 19s. He's got a lot about him.. fanatstic work-rate, great self-confidence, commitment and some "edge" ... Entrusted with all dead ball deliveries yesterday, so clearly has the confidence of the Management . Freddie back to his best and always influential; a second captain on the pitch in all-but name. Harry Parsons is a terrific acquisition. Very driven and intense.. and goal hungry.. a sort of sanctioned selfishness that is refreshing. Triallist No 6 did a decent job for one so young... and held his own against their extraordinarily bullying No 20 who even Eastleigh fans acknowledge has a PhD in "the dark arts". Rex Mannings and triallist No 7 got game time again; either would look useful acquisitions. However many (or few) attenders there are at tonight's "Meet the Manager", there will, be plenty of questions for Gary I'd imagine.. about personnel and style of play, particularly....

Listening to Gary Horgan post match interview sure he said centrehalf(No6)was Jac Poffley.Thought last night’s friendly was a good workout, defence and midfield looked ok. Up front Parsons tried his hardest, but with little support.Liked the No2,thought him and Bray linked well together.Would like to see Parsons and McClure play together.

Quite right. My error. Jac Poffley was the No 6 CB. No 2 cannot yet be named.

Looks like 2 was Lewis Colwell from Plymouth who just signed
