Yes did notice that Williams was in attendance, which gives us some cover at the back after losing Ellison. Couple still do with another striker as we won’t get a full season of 90mins out of McClure, although we seem to be awash with midfielders again.

A decent crowd. ( 200?).. well entertained last night. A wonder goal ( Spokes and others) and a farcical goal ( their first) framed the evening. Looked like the vast majority of our starting squad were there, including AAH who didn't get on the pitch, along with Tom Mehew, TOE and Jake Evans again. Joe Andrews has something of Dan Ellison about him in his maturity, presence and decision-making ... all at the age of 18. Really liked Triallist with 2 on his back; combative, up and down, good technique.. As for choice of strikers, I liked the look of the striker who came on with Parsons and Dawes in the 2nd half ; he shaded it over Rex Mannings who missed one hard chance and then a pretty easy one. I like the way Nat Williams backed himself to come forward.. but he is still prone to dangerous errors on occasion. The main question mark for me is the right back position. The Triallist mentioned above could fit the bill? Friendly or not, it's worth remembering that Swindon Supermarine & Hungerford are only a league below us... We looked so dominant at times that it was hard to believe. Not getting carried away... but you really can only beat who is in front of you and we did, pretty handsomely..

Melksham Town win 2-1 this afternoon.Typical pre season game - nothing standing out, only players getting minutes in. Uneducated guess that from the starting line up only Henry, AAH, Grant and Spokes would be nailed on starters if fit in two weeks. Stand to be corrected as no tannoy announcements about subs bench - but No Daws, Mehew or Parsons. Spokes played most of the game from the right and McClure captain and playing up front. Patient approach broke down which led to Melksham opener. Trialist who apparently played on Tuesday equalised. Melksham won it with 10 minutes left when we got caught out with a pass over the top (AAH off the pitch at this point).

I think Dawes picked up a knock in previous game,Meyhewstill recovering,Parsons,Haines and Williams played Friday night and all played well.TOE also played on Friday.Would think Tuesday should give some idea to starting eleven.
