Re: Weston (H)

Wow, that was quick! Weather doesn't look too bad between now and then, so fingers crossed.

Re: Weston (H)

0-1 HT.

We are not competing well and being dragged too deep. They always seem to have a man free to overload us.

Need a change of attitude in the second half

Re: Weston (H)

Yet another clueless woeful performance. Like the Dover game until the subs came on our play was negative and boring. Our only attacking option throughout the first half was kick the ball long and hope Craig Fasenmade could out run the defender (s) marking him. Game after game he chases everything with little or no support. Feel really sorry for him.
Team selection again totally baffling 5 at the back and 1lone striker. A lineup set to avoid losing rather than trying to win. Great for away games but for home games not really.  Leads to a negative and boring game. That’s 9 league games lost at home now l think and with the next home game against Worthing l can’t see any improvement on that.
Crowds are falling away perhaps evidenced by tonight’s crowd. Think it was 509 and there must have been a good 100 Weston fans there.
Fans will/have to accept you can’t win every game but even in defeat if you played well you may return for another match. But not so with us we are losing playing unattractive (boring) football

Re: Weston (H)

Have to agree with what joiner said. It was a bizarre team selection. We played Spokes and Owen-Evens as wide players but they are not wingers and all too often the ball make its way back to the keeper.
2nd half when Johnson and Williams came on things slightly improved.
I don’t think we had a shot on target for 70mins.
Loads of possession mind but all in our own half, crowds dropping, no atmosphere or entertainment.

Re: Weston (H)

Another forgettable performance.Really poor to be honest. We are the home team but instead of taking the initiative and attacking our opponents, we spent the first 20 minutes or so obsessively tapping the ball around our own 18 yard box/half with no purpose and let Weston grow into the game. Worryingly this seems to be part of the 'game plan' so despite nothing positive happening with this way of playing, nothing changes.Going nowhere playing like this.

Fas was the only player who ran around and his running about came to nothing. As mentioned, he got nothing at all in terms of service and support. Going forward we have no idea. Nobody runs off the ball, so called creative players walk around too much, nobody goes beyond the ball or does anything different. Again it seems all about the game plan. Weston played some nice football and had understanding in their play. Quite evident they were a better footballing team and were determined with it.

Fans pay money on the gate to be entertained and to see their team give it a go. No wonder crowds are dropping with the passive, negative/boring stuff on display week after week.

Re: Weston (H)

Can’t argue with the above posts.  The frustrating thing for me is we have some of the most talented players to have ever pulled on the blue shirt, yet the way they’re set up and told to play is tedious in the extreme, just so boring to watch.

Re: Weston (H)

Ditto... all the above! Frustrating to watch... and that same frustration, evidently, spilling out amongst some  players. I know we're missing two key wing-backs but to me our set-up and methodology were incomprehensible ... And so it came to pass...that we went behind and only really started going forward in the final 20 minutes. Too little, too late. ....Worrying on several levels!!..

Re: Weston (H)

Not sure if Horgan is in charge if transfers or someone higher up but out squad is so unbalanced this season - six centre backs, what feels like twelve centre midfielders and only two players each covering full back and winger positions... Leading to players covering in and defender heavy setups like yesterday whenever one of both of our full backs are injured.

Hate to be a negative Nancy but big changes need to be made in the summer I'm afraid
