Class Warrior

Nothing like giving a relegated team a good telling off and a lecture on the class system, on the day they sink beneath the waves. The fraternity of football fans...you can't beat it!

Re: Class Warrior

He's got a point though. The fans play a part in getting results. It can be as simple as telling a player that they've had a good game or as complicated as organising a sing song with a drummer. It all helps to lift the spirits of the players and happy players play better football.

Re: Class Warrior

Agree.  Some of the analysis is probably fair.... and there didn't seem to be too much obvious passion expressed by a big Dulwich crowd ( on video highlights at least)....just an odd tone to adopt on the evening a club is relegated.

Re: Class Warrior

Its embarrassing for the 'Chippenham fan' to have done this. We were only a few results off being in the same scrap and even after the unbeaten run were on the wrong end of a drubbing.
Having grown up in S London myself but now lived longer in 'Nam than anywhere else I can confidently say that if a CTFC fan is trying to claim a more working class fanbase from its locality they are barking up the wrong tree. I for one applaud DH stance and alignment with TUFAC and other progressive social campaigns like St Pauli. Rather this than our own benighted Tory government minister MP turn up for free and ask her companions if we are the team in blue... the Bluebirds knickname might give a clue you would have thought.

Re: Class Warrior

It did seem like a day out for most in attendance.

It was described to me by a couple of DH ST holders that a lot of DH fans just like the community aspect, getting a beer and a burger on a Saturday and there just happens to be a football match on in the background. A bloke sat next to us midway through the second half and asked if it was still 1-1... says it all.

That said, the DH fans I was talking to seemed lovely, and they weren't bothered about the division they played in, they were quite happy to have Isthmian games back and would attend no matter what division their team was in.

Re: Class Warrior

Can't argue really with the point about their fanbase. Last ten minutes, their season depended on scoring a goal and there wasn't that roar or encouragement you'd expect from any other club in that situation. Their team didn't seem up for the fight either (though in fairness a couple Henry wondersaves denied them an equaliser) and it's not unreasonable to suggest the two might possibly be connected
