Eastbourne Borough

Have new owners with big plans. According to their forum they were bought for a 7 figure sum and according to Gloucester City forum their next manager will be a Mr. S King.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

Will, Steve King is already the Gloucester City Manager, and has been all season.

No Tony, Gloucester fans are expecting King to go to Eastbourne saying he lives that way and he knows the National South better.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

My apologies Will, I misunderstood your post ! Must admit not my favourite Manager, particularly after we beat Dartford in last season’s play off match at their place. His behaviour and language was nothing short of disgraceful. I believe he was shown the door soon after that episode.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

Steve King has departed Gloucester City today and the club have also gone back to part-time.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

I am worried that Gloucester approach our management team and perhaps have more to offer than we can.

Their advert is describing what this club is doing down to a tee.  I think only being in The North puts a dent in the idea!

Re: Eastbourne Borough

Doubt they have more to offer, they are 1.3million in dept and most of the squad will be leaving, total rebuild.
That said I’d be concerned about our Gloucester based players.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

My understanding is that the people who run Hungerford Town are jumping ship and taking over at Gloucester City. I would not be too concerned about our Gloucester based players as I understand most of them are on contract.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

From Eastbourne Borough "Club Statement" .."David Blackmore ( Chairman) indicated to the shareholders’ meeting that Danny Bloor’s position as manager is not in doubt."
So S King destined for elsewhere perhaps....( unless Mr Blackmore is being economical with the truth).

As regards Gloucester City making any plays for local, and particularly, our, talent  we can only be Zen about it.  Those who can and want to move will do so for money or personal reasons and those who don't and can't (contractually) will stay put.  The only thing CTFC can properly control is its values as a club. Being a well-run club, with an excellent Board, manager and ethos, as well as offering first class opportunities for player development,  is just as powerful a tool  in Recruitment and Retention as the glitter of gold... which we clearly do not have in the same abundance as some.  The Close Season musical chairs is only just underway...Hopefully we keep a strong core and continue bringing in bright talent to blend in with the already seasoned players. Lots to look forward to.........
