Re: Hampton

Well done to both sides for giving us a decent game of football in some really unfavourable circumstances.  Counterintuitively, it was playing up the slope against the wind that seemed to be much the easier option and where both sides were most dangerous and got their goals.  True to type we conceded first and from  a corner,,, and true to  type we rallied really well and were terrific at times in the second half, pressure that we capped with two excellent goals.  Everyone was good in the seond half particularly.  MOTM for me was  again, Tom Mehew who won so much ball and set so much going. Great to see the return of Will R, and particularly Craig Faz from injury. Just the bounce back from the Slough unravelling that anyone could have wished. Well done.
Excellent gate, too, @ 696

Re: Hampton

Thought we dominated from start to finish today. Had really good large spells of possession however not many chances to show for it in the first half. However second half the subs made a great impact especially Windsor. 2 great goals and a great way to bounce back. Man of the match for me definitely Will King kept his man little to nothing and made some great forward runs. Great way to bounce back.

Re: Hampton

I'd like to know whether the stats agree with me but I think we always play better up the slope in the second half. Even with the wind in our face and the sun in our eyes we were the better side in the second half, but somewhat fortunate not to be further behind at half-time.

Re: Hampton

I didn't think we dominated from start to finish, for me it was a classic game of two halves. Indeed this year we have definitely played better (and scored a lot more goals?) kicking up the slope. I'm sure it never used to be like that. No coincidence for me that after our substitutions we looked exceptional going forward. Excellent attendance. Great result to follow the Slough game....

Re: Hampton

Historically Newfan we have always played better going down the slope in the second half. But clearly based on current results, we play better going up the slope in the second half. Great result today coming from behind to win COYMB

Re: Hampton

Failure to get any shot off in that wind was phenomenal!
Game spoilt for me by a growing body of teenagers who are attending games with little or no interest in the football!
Second half ruined by a load of 10 -11 year old boys presumably from youth football team? Pretty horrifying what was coming out of their foul little mouths. Disappointing that their coaches couldn’t have stood with them!

Re: Hampton

I thought we had a new Head Steward who was meant to be responsible for dealing with situations like this. I spotted him at the Weymouth game, and he looked very important in his fluorescent jacket. Not entirely sure how effective he is going to be though !

That is our health and safety officer. Not head bouncer.

I have no problem with these kids. They cross the line at times but what kids don’t. Atmosphere has been as good as it very has been and that’s down to them.

Help and guide them, keep them involved.  Club needs  it over the old farts brigade of recent years.
