Well played today what you lacked in skill you made up for in pure guts and determination, wish our players had half of what you’ve got.
Good luck in the next round.
Thanks, Eric, for your good wishes and contributions on the forum.
Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Been thinking.
A few grumbles about the " disallowed" goal - sportingly normally with the caveat that Chippenham deserved it, but got me thinking about luck or just plain misfortune.
Pendulum swinging our way at Worcester in the 1st round replay 2005 and the Ref sends off the wrong player in Mark Badman, we immediately concede and go out 1 nil with 10 men and 120k down the pan.
It's a funny old game.

I think it was a foul. While Richards head was low he’s got there first and then been kicked in the head. If he had got his foot there first and then got kicked in the ankle it would be a foul.
What a day for the club. I thought Gary got his tactics spot on and barely gave them a sniff. Even the subs were the right changes with Greenslade and Parker causing big problems on the break. Then they started going long and we battled hard for every second ball.
This team has made the play offs and the second round in the last 6 months, all history making moments, if we can find a goal scorer or two then we are motoring.
Bear in mind we had our two main forwards on the bench as unused subs - an impressive win.
Let’s hope it’s a good draw and on the tv.

One observation, there was no atmosphere from the Chippenham Supporters. Mainly due to the ‘day trippers’ taking all the seats behind the goal. Looking forward to Gary Horgan on BBC on Monday night! Superb performance lads!
If we get a home tie again perhaps the club could designate an "active support" section behind the goal for St holders?
I understand the frustration but all week the Club have been advising supporters to get to the ground early. My wife and I got there by 1.00pm to ensure a good seat. I suggest the choir from the cricket ground stand follow suit if we get drawn home in the next round!! We did miss your singing!!!

Well done to all at Chippenham Town, a magnificent effort by the players and staff. Every player gave his all with a special shout out for Luke Russe who covered every inch of the pitch and won so many challenges.
Also very pleased for Neil Blackmore - the greatest day in the clubs history has come about on his watch.
Fingers crossed for another league club in the draw for round 2

Just got the breath back. Raised one eyebrow when I saw the starting eleven... but rationalised it by assuming that Gary H was going to avoid the Northampton unravelling, by doing everything to tough out the crucial first 30 minutes without conceding. Surprisingly, and thankfully, Lincoln didn't operate the high pressing game and didn't unsettle us from the off as several sides have managed to do at the TSS this season. We played our football and offered particular threat through Harry P who did a fantastic job alone up front... refusing to be bullied and squirming and battering his way into a couple of goal-scoring positions. They produced two brilliant defence splitting passes that came to nothing, and a number of well-delivered crosses that suffered a similar fate and then... it was we who took the lead!!.. at a perfect time, too.
The second half was always going to be drawbridge stuff with the chance of a lightning counter attacks into huge spaces. With the new legs of Greenslade and Parker, this nearly bore fruit on 2 occasions. Finally, we got into real Alamo and Rorke's Drift territory near the end. Blue shirted bodies flinging themselves into the line of fire , and the final pure theatre of the last four minutes... the ball being hoofed as high as the floodlights against a soundtrack of banging and drumming in the stands and terraces. Emotional stuff! The stats speak for themselves: they had 67% of possession, more shots and more corners. We had more shots on goal! I would be more than disappointed as a travelling Lincoln fan with their performance, which seemed oddly disengaged. They didn't want it anywhere near as much as we did. They seemed to have accepted their fate after their goal was disallowed and relied increasingly on the same attacking option over and over again. It's pretty invidious to single many of our players out. Everyone, from top to bottom played their hearts out. Belief grew and determination to defend what we'd earned did, too. Crucially, amidst all the swirling emotion, we were incredibly clean in the tackle and only conceded 6 fouls and none in really dangerous positions. Lincoln fans were a credit to their club as were ours who, although relatively silent, were skilfully contained at the end by their own self-restraint, good stewarding and the players quickly making their way over to avoid the risk of breached walls and unnecessary disorder. A perfect way to finish. Monday at 7pm it is then.

How early should we have to turn up, at 2pm all the seats were taken with some you've never seen before reserving a handful of seats. I had no problem standing somewhere else, but I think it would be worth the club reserving a small section to preserve the atmosphere and perhaps some seat tickets in the main stand for those unable to stand and not able to arrive two hours before ko. I don't think it's unreasonable to let those who attend every week have a benefit or two when these big matches come along.

Its a shame to dwell on something negative after a truly wonderful day for the club, but (having missed one home game in about seven years) I arrived about 2pm and had no chance of standing where I normally do (far side). Indeed people were already 5 or 6 deep all the way along, and not being the tallest on the planet I had a very poor view throughout. I understand its a first come first served thing, but slightly frustrating. At least I went home happier than the very damp Lincoln supporters!

I agree. I hope the club look at it if they are hosts in the 2nd round, something like reserving your seat or something if you're a ST holder (at the very least)
