Chelmsford

Surprised to see that Tuesday nights rearranged game is not being advertised on the board outside the ground, obviously don't want a big crowd, or does everyone get their info on line ?

Re: Chelmsford

I don't think the board pulls in many more, if any, punters to be quite honest.  Everything is online now.

Re: Chelmsford

We discussed this at the meeting pre season and a lot of us there said that there is still a place for non online advertising. Adverts in shops in town and in pubs and clubs can still pull in the punters.

Re: Chelmsford

One volunteer is better than 12 pressed men. Hobgoblin you could be that man, need to check spelling first though, Chelmsford ☆

Re: Chelmsford

Happy with a point.  Chelmsford looked bigger and stronger than us, but to be fair to our lads they battled right to the final whistle and deserved something for their efforts.  Jordan Young looked sharp when he came on - hopefully he can start on Saturday as I’m not sure where a goal will come from otherwise.

Re: Chelmsford

Huffed and puffed but no reward. Both teams even basically cancelling themselves out. 3 Academy players and an 18year old up front speaks volumes. We need to start scoring or it’s going to be a long old season!!

Could do with and old fashion No9.
What’s happened to Dan Griffiths has he gone?

Re: Chelmsford

Agree with the points above. Happy with a point but these are the games that if we are to replicate last seasons heroics, we have too and did last term find a way. Thought Seb Palmer Houlden was terrific tonight and given we had to tweak our system tonight with so many defensive players out, thought we did remarkably well to create a few chances with direct channel balls and picking up scraps. Looked more of a footballing side when Young and Santos entered the fray and against tired legs perhaps that was Horgs plan. Great shifts tonight from Seb, Russe and Kinger who I though was particularly good in the midfield tonight. Great to see Eddie and Matt delivering balls in from wide space and it won’t be long before SPH finds his head on one of those. Tonight was always going to be a chore against such big and physical defenders. It’s no goals, but two points and against Hungerford and Taunton I think we will give ourselves a good chance at picking up points again and climb up the table. Very pleased with the attendance tonight 497 midweek, very few visiting supporters and spoilt for choice with the EFL Trophy offering some good ties, that could have been much worse for us. Onto Hungerford now and a big chance to get our first W of the season. Well done all and big thank you to Chelmsford who have been a class act as a club both trips down to Wiltshire

Dan was at the game stood by our bench with Spencer Hamilton and some other players, dressed in a CTFC tracksuit;

Re: Chelmsford

A thoroughly workmanlike performance from our boys last night against a huge and physical Chelmsford side. Unfortunately it was clear to all who attended last night’s game that we desperately need a big striker of our own. I know I’ve mentioned this guy before, but Trialist C back in pre-season to me seemed to fit the bill. At the moment I can’t see where our first goal this season is coming from. Our approach play is superb, and with the introduction of Youngy last night, you could see things developing. I feel I must mention Will King who in my opinion had a stormer last night. When you consider Swindon Town released this young man, I cannot think for the life of me why - he is certainly making a huge claim for a regular start - COYMB

Re: Chelmsford

One thing I noticed last night is what better squad depth we have this year - think we would have struggled last season with two first choice defenders out and two starting attackers in the bench
