2021/22 Season

Hell of a season.

A great season that was extended unexpectedly and with us only just being narrowly beaten by a professional outfit in Ebbsfleet.

Thanks to the players, staff and volunteers for the season just gone.

Onwards and upwards for the new season.

Re: 2021/22 Season

Taking one of the playoff games to penalties and the other to extra time shows that we are capable of competing with the best in the league. Whether we are in a position to cope in the league above is another question entirely. The costs involved are so much higher and personally I'm comfortable that we didn't make it on this occasion.

A great season overall. Always disappointing to exit the cups early and to lose to those Romans twice, but to make the playoffs with our budget is an incredible achievement.
Given the standard and potential budgets of those team in the National league I’m happy to consolidate for a few more seasons.
The club needs to continue the great work already being done and the new ideas from Simon and his team. With the emphasis on increasd gates, revenue, additional volunteers and a link to the supporters.
(Note: Loved the outside bar at Ebbsfleet, is this something we could do in August?)
A big ask but I’d also love to see additional board members who could potentially share Neil’s burden and not just financially.

I hate this time of the season, always fear we will lose our best players to those with bigger budgets.

Re: 2021/22 Season

If we can retain the core of this dressing room, I’m certain the majority would want to hang around unless bids from higher divisions came around - they seem a tight knit group, as evident by the celebrations at Havant and Dartford.

The fact we came so close to games against the likes of Notts County and Oldham Athletic shows how far we have progressed under Neil’s near-decade of Chairmanship.

We’ve made Vase finals and won Southern Leagues, but some of the talent in our current squad are amongst the best I’ve seen pull on our blue shirt, and that’s before we touch on the talented bunch of youngsters coming through.

Our highest ever league finish will be tough to top next season, but if we achieve it we’ll be in for some season…

Re: 2021/22 Season

The bar has been set and now we must push on and achieve, we have a strong pool of talented under 23s who hold no fear and will only get better, Neil will back another tilt at the play offs I would imagine so it’s all systems go at HP.

Re: 2021/22 Season

A great season not without its adversity but the overriding emotion here will be pride and looking back on the season, I do so with fondness.

The hard work really starts here guys, I see so many good ideas being batted around here albeit anonymously however, don’t think you aren’t being listened too, learned from and appreciated!

The workload is going to be immense for all of us over the next few months to give our supporters exactly what we deserve, another chance at this again next season! I’m sure that you’ll all continue to get behind the endeavours once more and hopefully we can make this season one to remember as well.

Remember, I have an open door policy, if you can think of anything to increase revenue, gates, awareness or if you know of a business looking to advertise with this great club, send them over to the website, grab my details and get in touch! With the Blue Army behind me, I know I can do my job and in turn allow for others to do theirs to the best of their ability!

Come on you Blues!!

Might be worth plugging the season tickets again Voice - strike while the irons hot?

Hi IL,

All socials were instructed midweek to do another round of advertising for season tickets and we have also opened the Blues Bar on Saturdays throughout June for ST sales and a drink for our supporters! Please as many of you as possible, head along and keep Tina company.

Re: 2021/22 Season

This isn't neccesarily a commercial point, more so a matchday experience point. The "Before you complain, have you thought about volunteering?" signs... can they please go?

Look, I completely agree and understand the message. But to me, the idea that attendees, particularly first-time visitors, will see this sign immediatley at the entrance (and around the ground) I feel would subconiciously make them think they're going to have a bad experience, one they're going to complain about. That first impression is so important.

Instead could they be framed more positively? "Want to help fans get in the ground quicker? Volunteer at CTFC!" or "Take your support further - join the growing number of volunteers at CTFC!" could be two more positive options that still get the message out there...

You make a very good point 96chipp. It does sow a subconscious seed that you're about to discover something about which you're going to have to complain.

'Take your support further - join the growing number of volunteers at CTFC' is much more uplifting.
