Why should we, Reg? We’ll have to dig it up when we get promotion to the E.F.L. League 2! 😀

Doubt if we would qualify for any grant money as Stanley Park got bucket loads. If we were intending to go down 4G route we would have needed to throw in our lot up there, but I think various rules forbid charging. A shame as I am sure local council tax payers would rather see the Bluebirds benefit from those facilities rather than a team out of county (Forest Green Rovers). Good job HP sees few games called off due to the weather but the extra income 4G provides would be useful, but again Stanley Park has that covered.

i seem to remember from previous discussions on this subject that a major obstacle was our slope. The drop is far too great and would require a lot of levelling up before a 4G surface could be laid.

I believe that Bath City also proposed to have a 4G pitch if their ground redevelopment went ahead. A number of fans expressed their displeasure at this as it would require the destruction of their historical terracing ( I believe the Romans installed it ). But as Bath City council won't let them build student flats to finance it I don't think it will happen.

Yes it’s fair point Yorkie however, the extra income from pitch hire daily, weekly, monthly and annually would allow us to have kind of budget that is required to get into the football league, exactly the way Sutton went about it.

As I understand it the Town Council do very well out of Forest Green Rovers who pay handsomely for the privilege.
As for HP, yes, the slope in itself presents a big problem. I like it the way it is.

Whilst I accept any income for the council is welcome, I still find it absurd that a team 25 miles away from another county make use of this brilliant facility. My point is Chippenham Town FC would have benefitted from moving there not only for the facilities but also the huge number of children who play there on a Saturday who could have been attracted to watch a Chippenham game after finishing their own.

Too true, Reg, nothing wrong in thinking positive, eh?

4G. Do one. If you want to play 5 a side with velvet ball ***k off back to school.
I'm quite happy with 1G. If it's good enough for everyone in earth, it's good enough for me.
