Very good display today and good of Harry Parsons to finally turn up and contribute with goals.

Finally!! That was what, his third start for us?

Not been impressed. Sulks when subbed, hasn’t contributed up until now and he’s meant to be a professional footballer.

Even looking back at his goals I think he’s a touch lucky with a couple of them.

I’m being a touch harsh but why not.

Re: Dorking.

At least he was in the right place to stick the ball in the net lucky or not. Let’s hope it continues

Just watched Cook’s interview and I am disappointed to see him say he wants the loans for longer - Ethan Hill and Ola have been every bit as good as any loan or senior player.  I don’t think anyone of the loans has been that good or that key that we will massively miss them, especially with Hanks, Bray and Greenslade back. I know there are others who can step up from the 23s team - they just need a chance, why do we insist on developing other teams players and not our own?

The 23s had another good result today and if I’m going to watch loan players on Saturday then I’ll go watch the 23s on Friday night at home against Slough.

Tell us your son plays for the academy, without telling us your son plays for the academy! 🤣🤣

I see their manager complained in his post match interview about the whistle going off from the hockey pitch, which led to one of their defenders stopping for our second goal… heard it all.

If you really want to “hear it all” they have a documentary being filmed by Bunch of Amateurs on YouTube and you’ll arguably see the absolute worst of Marc White. Fortunately for other sides in the division, his antics he claims to “get referees onside” only seem to make him more unpopular among the men in black and have an adverse affect on his extremely talented side. Make no bones about it, Chippenham have just demolished one of the best sides in the NLS despite their position currently!

Reginald, no Sir! Don’t do the achievement down. Dorking came into this league and made the playoff Semi Finals where they lost in the last minute to eventual winners Weymouth at their first attempt. Their second they were 5 clear with a game in hand and looking rather unstoppable until the season was curtailed and voided. To call them anything other than that would just be ignorant and clueless. They have some fantastic players, a lot of which that have played together a long time and really bought into Dorking as a club despite the polarising character of their manager/owner. They are not just a group a few good individuals, you break their side down 1-11 and all of them are talented players for this level, some arguably higher.

Don’t have a son, just a local footballer supporter that’s been about long enough to see good loans come in and then loans who aren’t.

Callum Rowe is an excellent player but now DG and AB seem fit, is not needed
Cam Hargreaves just runs about (which seems enough for a lot of ppl but not for me)
Harry Parsons has got some goals at least
Ricky A has been really good and has a bit between his ears

Compare to Owen-Evans, Twine, Haines and Wheelan.  Chalk and cheese.

I’ll go and watch both teams whenever I can and I do not see any difference between the loans and our older U23 players who have been involved.  Waste of money?  Correct me if I’m wrong The Voice as you seem to support the younger boys playing too?  Aren’t we trying to make the next Tyrone Mings for us and not Bristol Rovers etc.

Bluebird Bob.
I totally agree with you about the U23 I have been watching them from the start very exciting team to watch and deserve the step up, I think it's only a matter of time.

Correct Sir! I do support the young boys playing and am incredibly proud of Joe, Kier, the academy and everyone of the players that represent it! When they make the step to the first team, I am unbelievably proud. My disagreement here comes with the fact that we don’t need such players to succeed at this level.

Callum Rowe is a FANTASTIC player, of the 3/4 games he has played for Chippenham he could have been in with a shout for Mom every single game.

You’ve chewed out Parsons for having a bad attitude to being substituted, generally not being a good enough talent and being lucky in front of goal? That’s madness. Parsons is a brash, talented lad who of course doesn’t want to come off! He’s a player on loan who shows passion and determination on the pitch and that showed on Saturday! What a performance from the lad and that should be praised, not used for a side swipe as from what I can see there definitely isn’t a 5 goal a month striker ready to make the jump from our academy yet and I’m sure if there was, we would know.

Cam Hargreaves is the hardest working player on that pitch and rivals Russe for importance. His game on Saturday especially the gegenpress style of midfield play is what created the space and time for the likes of Lawal, Aguiar and Hanks to be creative. Take an engine out of a car and it’s just parts! And Luke Russe and Cam Hargreaves in that midfield is as hard working a combo in Non League football! And I love that!

It is pointless to compare those loans. They are anomalies for the most part. We got the best of Scott Twine before the world recognised it. The following year saw him smash the Swindon side, move up and will definitely go higher. Haines again came to us when Swindon were going for a league title, the quality of players that were coming out of SN that were surplus to requirement most of the time was ridiculous! TOE was a tremendous player and again only with us because of a stupid manager at Hereford that didn’t rate him, he’s literally there best player! And he’s showing that now and as for Whelan, well Whelan wanted a touch too much, was too direct and not good enough when with us so it’s interesting his name came up.

Football is a game of opinions and it would be wrong of me to suggest yours is incorrect because it differs but I think if the academy had that much strength in depth and quality that we didn’t need loans to plug the fact we only have 13 senior players for a division that requires around 18-20 in order to survive injuries and suspension etc, we would certainly have identified that. I believe that we are pleasantly surprised so far that Ethan, Ola, Joel, Landon and Co have settled so well into a standard of football way above the reach of most 17/18 year olds but to rely on them would be no more foolish than relying on loans, relying on expensive contract players and so on.

And finally. Yes, our aim is to develop players for the future. The next Tyrone Mings so to speak, but the reason that story is so special is because it’s unique. We shouldn’t put massive stock in the fact we may unearth a gem like that and for the most part, it was luck! No one could have predicted Tyrones rise to the level he’s at. No one! Personally I didn’t rate him at Chippenham, thought it was just nepotism with Adie being his Dad (Again proving people can be wrong) but, to suggest we don’t take loans because it benefits other clubs more than us is a madness! Premier League clubs take loans! It’s a huge part of football and those players should be treated with the same respect. I found your comments very disrespectful about players that have absolutely given their all for the club so far! But I also understand your point

It’s not my intention to disrespect these players, more highlight they lack real quality IMO (apart from Ricky). You’ve inadvertently done it yourself as you’ve highlighted commitment, hard work and running rather than any football ability of these players.

I liked Cam but he isn’t brilliant at defending and that is his main role.

I find the mindset of running and hard work very non league, and yes it is non league football, but think we should go for quality over legs with the loans (or both).  Maybe it’s effected by who is available at the time.

How you can question Wheelan staggers me, he’s gone on to play a division higher and been one of the best players in the league.

Will be interesting to see how things go tomorrow against a good Oxford team
