Re: Dorking.

If only we can play like that every week. Looking forward to another train away day at Oxford.

Re: Dorking.

Leaving Portsmouth at 08:31 in a taxi £5.00

Train to Chippenham £48.80

Few too many beers in the Blues Bar (Ask Vic)

Spilling cider on Tina Hemmings back seat and not telling her (TBC)

Still being on a train until 11:45pm in the pitch black (Life)

Going home with 3 points, a smile on my face, a sore throat from announcing 4, yes 4! Home goals and generally feeling like today was another special day at the TSS….. Priceless!

Great day, great result. Whatever your allegiance and opinion today, we can all agree, that feels fantastic as a Chippenham supporter!

Re: Dorking.

Very good display today and good of Harry Parsons to finally turn up and contribute with goals.  Atmosphere in the ground seemed lively too which was a refreshing change.

Just watched Cook’s interview and I am disappointed to see him say he wants the loans for longer - Ethan Hill and Ola have been every bit as good as any loan or senior player.  I don’t think anyone of the loans has been that good or that key that we will massively miss them, especially with Hanks, Bray and Greenslade back. I know there are others who can step up from the 23s team - they just need a chance, why do we insist on developing other teams players and not our own?

The 23s had another good result today and if I’m going to watch loan players on Saturday then I’ll go watch the 23s on Friday night at home against Slough.

Re: Dorking.

I see their manager complained in his post match interview about the whistle going off from the hockey pitch, which led to one of their defenders stopping for our second goal… heard it all.

Re: Dorking.

Well done to all concerned. Great win over a big spending set-up.

Re: Dorking.

That was a good result well taken goals and some excellent defending and blocks. Thought Dorking were quite a good side. Their foul mouthed manger was a joke, complaining at every incident, referee should have had words with him, appalling abuse to the officials and language.  Well done CTFC.

Re: Dorking.

Arrived at the game expecting the worse but left very happy having watched a most entertaining game. A few more home performances like that then the fans will soon return and we will get the crowds the club needs to survive and prosper. Nice to see the ball played on the ground instead of the hoof and hope football of earlier in the season. Well done to everyone involved.

Re: Dorking.

A really entertaining game of football - I am more than happy with a 4-1 win and seeing a hat-trick scored but let us not forget a couple of important excellent saves from Will and one last ditch clearance off the line early in the game which on another day might all have been goals. Credit to the young players who must each have run miles yesterday. I was particularly impressed with our 7, Cameron Hargreaves - a really tenacious and hardworking midfield performance and if we didn't have a hat--trick to reward would have been my MOTM. It is a shame we gifted them the consolation goal with one of the few defensive errors of the game - I feared the worst with Richards not there, but it was otherwise a really solid performance. Oh and great to see Bray back, I think we have really missed him. Really pleased to see swift passing interchange between Parsons, Aguiar and Lawal with forward momentum rather than the hoof and hope fruitless long ball we've seen far too often this season

Re: Dorking.

Light of heart and blithe of spirit, His Lordship was quite unable to resist the often resistible charms of Her Ladyship on Saturday night, notwithstanding the heavily reinforced gusset of the infamous long-johns  and an industrially constructed brassiere which occasioned a furious and ultimately unfruitful physical battle.. over which His Lordship shall now draw a discreet veil ...  thus allowing him  time to contemplate his:-

 Inexpert Analysis No 9.

Overall:  The better, more effective team won. Directness was rewarded; chances were taken and a healthy measure of justice was served.

DWFC:-  His Lordship takes no pleasure in speaking ill of a side or a club, but DWFC must be called out on this occasion. A Steve Evans-ish manager;  a constant succession of small pushes and shoves from behind on CTFC players just as the ball was arriving; constant berating of the referee ( Yes No 6 .. YOU!).
Undignified and occasionally cynical they were nevertheless a good footballing side, moving the ball with real speed and constantly raiding down the flanks ( No 16 a particular thorn).  Couldn't capitalise on the dozens of crosses and long throws that flew into our box.  "Just deserts" one is tempted to, and will,  say.

CTFC:-  a classic Chipp performance; last ditch bodies-on-the-line defending, and highly effective counter-punching on the break through youngsters Lawal, Parsons and Aguiar.  Thought Greenslade looked much happier in central defence, than having his lack of pace exposed in the left-back position, and delighted to see young Bray and later young Hill do a creditable job on handling their flying No 16.  Russe ever-busy.. but despite the obvious candidate (Young Parsons), MOTM for me: Callum Rowe again.  Rarely puts a foot wrong. Not sure His Lordship agrees at all with those respondents who believe the loanees bring us little.  4 splendid, well-taken goals were just reward for commitment and know-how.

Conclusion: - Accept that we are a counter-attacking side ( hence the excellent Away form) and don't have the quality for sustained, multi-pass carefully constructed attacking football.  Run hard at defenders and use the front 3 to press, press press.. thus unsettling and exposing.any defence.

Now off to look for the bolt-croopers for another assault on HL's brassiere! Wish me well.
