Tough one to take today. History will show the 1-0 defeat but won’t display the effort our lads put in, certainly deserving of at least a point. Maidstone and their 1,800 fans couldn’t wait for that final whistle to go.
Again, a lack of cutting edge in the final third probably cost us, but it seems harsh to criticise when you go somewhere like the Gallagher Stadium and dominate large portions of the play.
Additionally, the 8 of us behind the goal were made to feel very welcome by both the home fans and one steward in particular who offered team news, the attendance and was generally a credit to his club.
Couldn’t recommend an away day to Maidstone highly enough, and let’s hope we get it again next season.

An enjoyable away day despite the result. Very equal throughout, having a home crowd of just under two thousand was a definite advantage with some debateable decisions by the officials. Having said that we huffed and puffed in the first half. Ricky was bright throughout and second half we could and should of scored a couple. A draw would of been a fair result.

Thank you swayne close, glad you had good day, I was hopeful of three points, Maidstone in very poor form with no wins in seven. I was one of the very few on a very wet night when we drew nil nil, remember Will Richards breaking his arm and Luke Haines blazing over with five minutes to go, great stadium. I went to Melksham decent game in front of over 400, good to see other Bluebirds fans there.

Supporters moan every home game about long ball football so on weekends where the first team are away you go and watch Melksham.
You couldn’t make it up.

I thought it there was a freedom of choice option in life, where did you go ?

Went to see the academy side play yesterday.shame not more there to encourage the young lads. Perhaps try them next 1st team away. Was a good entertaining game and some good players on show. Chippenham 2-0 up going into added time at the end of the game. Dunstable equalised then Chippenham attacked penalty won 3-2. Dunstable player who scored equalised took his shirt off celebrating. Got booked then minute or two later booked a foul and sent off. No doubt his coach might have something to say about that. Also never realised but seemed to be operating a sin bin rule for dissent.

You are correct. I didn’t go anywhere other than early Christmas shopping with Mrs Bluebird 🤬
I just find it odd how you can moan about drab football from Mike Cook’s team when Melksham are the 21st century crazy gang with their direct style - all of a sudden it’s enjoyable. Each to their own.
Had I been available to watch, I would have watched our U23s play. As a Chippenham supporter, I’d naturally go and watch the team I support and put money into my club rather than another.

Who said it was enjoyable, yes Cooks style has been drab and not many will deny that, two weeks ago a CTFC director was at Melksham when we were at Dartford, I expect he thought that better than Xmas shopping on a Saturday.

What can I say, the U23 are at home they would make a much better watch than Melksham any day, they play with desire and pride to be wearing a Chippenham shirt.
They are technically better than a lot of players chase every ball right to the last whistle.
So please next Chippenham away game get down and watch you will not be disappointed.
