This is a tough league and we are possibly punching above our weight just being part of it.
There is no way we can compete with the increasing number of big spenders trying to reach the next leve so let's just appreciate what we have. I think there is only 1 side to be relegated so .if we finish in top 20 then it is job done.
For the resources available to us we are doing ok. Bath's gates might be 2 or 3 times ours but it does not result in extra points.
You are most definitely right but it’s not just about the losing, it’s the manner in which we do it. The style of football we play is awful to watch and gates will keep on dropping.
Summed up for me when Warwick came on could be bothered to close down which resulted in an easy punt up field that then lead to the goal.
Would say though that I think most worried when Puddy left and Henry had big boots to fill, but he’s been excellent easily our player of the season so far.

It’s a tough league and always has been, nothings changed since we got promoted on that front, bigger clubs, bigger wage bills, the worry is crowds have dropped dramatically , we have no style or plan and look a poor side. The management have distanced themselves from the fan base so something must change. Hungerford had a bigger attendance than us which tells you a story, HP was always a tough gig for opponents but not anymore.

That was crap. Not good enough. Absolutely no creativity from the players today, there was no intent to drive forward, if we'd scraped that 1-0 win then I'd still be saying it's a shambles.
Not sure what can be done but the coaching staff give absolutely no passion from the sideline. You could see what was going to happen a mile off but the players didn't dig in at all. It was piss poor and predictable.

Long ball rubbish again, no entertainment and dull. Was stood next to a friend who took his 8 year old son, with half an hour to go he wanted to go home as was bored. Says it all.

I must add that the only positive was seeing Ola Lawal making his debut. I thought he was absolutely brilliant when he came on.

There must be a break-even attendance figure we aim to reach or hopefully exceed. I couldn't hazard a guess at what it might be, but wouldn't be surprised if we're now consistently failing to meet the target. The board will have to make up the shortfall, which presumably means less money for new signings. We're in a downward spiral. We, as in the board, management team, players and supporters, have to halt the decline quickly.

Agreed. I have watched the U23s the last two Fridays and he’s a real handful - I think there are a few others in that team who could do with being selected as well vs what’s currently on offer!
You could see the equaliser coming today - thank god for Will Henry!! Let’s hope the away form continues.

I’m usually quick to criticise; but I’m going to go easy! Ok they aren’t playing entertaining football which is worrying. They are 7 points from either end of the table. Some on here have said about the budgets of the bigger clubs. We are never going to compete with the likes of them. Well if they stay that is acceptable and realistic. I was more annoyed that Chippenham rolled over in the FA Cup because that was their chance to do something!
IMO don’t make any changes. One thing I’d like to see is the players being happier. Maybe they should go ‘paint balling’ !
Come on lads cheer up!

Warning: There follows a contrarian view. Look away now if you are offended by other views.. On arrival back at the ancestral pile at 5.30 pm on Saturday, Her Ladyship, still with headphones on her and a flush on her cheek, fresh, apparently, from hosting a regional Bruce Springsteen ( whoever he is?) Society tea party, exclaimed “Whatever has happened to you two?”. The Bearded Wonder’s beard had thinned and whitened to the point of mange and was a mere apology for itself, while my normally ample white locks stuck out in thin, dishevelled tufts exactly as our chickens feathers do during the current moult. The interior of the Daimler resembled the aftermath of a pillow fight. Our hair tearing episode had been the direct result of another afternoon witnessing the unfolding story, now re-written, of “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde visit Thornbury Surfacing Park Ltd.” Even Her Ladyship’s consolatory muffin later that evening could not console. Instead His Lordship buried myself in preparing…….. His Lordships’s Inexpert Analysis No 7. Overall: To coin a time-worn cliché: a game of two completely different halves. CTFC dominate Part 1; while Braintree exert all the pressure and take possession of Part 2. Braintree FC: Very humble opposition, beset by some of our own vices. Offered little until the second half, where they ran their socks off having been handed, gratis, masses of space and opportunity to seize the momentum and inevitably, it seemed, equalise. CTFC: Looked like a different side in the first half. TBW and myself agreed that this was the best 45 minutes of the season, at Home, anyway. Clearly under instruction to keep the ball, play it simple, push forward, back themselves on the ball… they did just that. Young William Richards exemplifying that as he calmly went about his business. The ball, instead of being a threat as it has been lately, suddenly became their friend and the KP goal was a just and splendid reward for patience, possession and composure. Dr Jekyll came out after half-time and on steroids, as CTFC reverted to the very worst symptoms of their worryingly long-term sickness. Scramble defence, hoofs to nowhere, retreating so deep they were nearly on the A350 by the end and the inevitable and sickening conclusion of a deserved equaliser. Conclusion: As Carlyle famously (?) said|: A Conclusion in which nothing is Concluded. Play one way with discipline and composure and you win; play the other, and you lose… and you lose good will and support too. Bright spots: the first half; a great goal; the young Academy substitute; Simon(?) on the PA system. Dark spots: the second half; a stone-faced Chairman sitting in his seat, staring into the middle distance at the end. Small huddles of CTFCsupporters talking insurrection… unreasonably in His Lordship’s view..at the end. “No Surrender” as that young whipper-snapper Springsteen apparently declared! The Battle Cry for Dartford, I hope

This the first time that I have commented on a match this season as I thought that I would watch a representable number of games before expressing my thoughts ( 5 home games ,as like many other supporters I do travel to away games).
Off the pitch the Chairman and Board have created a great set up on the field we are a total shambles. This has got to be the worse Chippenham side I have seen in my 20 years of supporting the team. Yes a great goal by KP and Henry has made some great saves in the games I have watched but the team as a whole don't want to play "Football", the only thing the backs and mid-field do when they get the ball is punt it aimlessly up field and in turn give possession to the opposition. We have so many coaching staff that the subs have to sit in a tent next to the dugout. Who are all these people ? Do we need them all ? How much do they cost the club? Would the money be better used on a striker who can actually find the net? Is Mike a manager or just someone who brings together a group of coaches, maybe he should be more hands on?
On a positive note our away form is keeping in a mid table position. When I said to my wife that we were better away from home she came up with this solution " That the team go on a two hour coach trip prior to a home match and then maybe they will change their mind set into thinking they're away and play like that"
Any way to get the crowds back we need to change, we need to entertain and most of all we need to start winning.
