Re: MATCH PREVIEW: vs Concord Rangers, Sat 25th Sept 2021

Problem was we didn’t entertain in front of 400 Chipp fans but did in front of 10 hence the difference in the number of posts after the two matches.

As we all know. People are always much quicker to complain than to praise. That is a fact of life and will Probably never change. We are all guilty of that. One really bad performance will usually get more coverage than 3 good ones. Two big home games that can be won coming up.  Win these two and peoples Views may start to change. Good luck Mike and the lads for the two games. And the £5000 plus if we can win the cup game should keep Neil and the board smiling. 😎

I do get that mate, I do. The only issue is we are going up against a Poole Town side there that need that money a heck of a lot more, need that feather in their cap. The difference between the Southern Prem and National League South is vast but when you take the top 10 of the SPL and the bottom 10 of the NLS and mix them, I would suggest there could a serious shake up in terms of where teams like Poole, Taunton, Weston, Hayes etc end up. Football is a business of entertainment of course is it, but in reality. We shut Poole out Tuesday whilst not compromising certain players and keeping to a plan to get us through and get us through unscathed. 1-0 and then we go to the weekend. Big indicator being Will Richards, came off when he arguably would have been wanted to stay on the pitch against Poole however, needed to be mindful, we were, he plays Saturday, scores the opener and keeps a clean sheet! My little cheap poke there wasn't at anything other than the response I felt wasn't warranted after the 1-0 win and followed up by a 3-0 win, away at a very good Concord side. Take tomorrow against Ebbsfleet, fully expect to lose that, as I did with St Albans, Havant and honestly, Concord as well. But should we find ourselves competing against them, the expectation rises and people will claim we "missed chances" "didn't play well enough" etc when the reality is we have no business tangling with full time teams of that magnitude on paper. Games aren't won on paper hence we do pick up these results but the expectation is being altered based on where we sit in the table and the fact we are winning games. It will be interesting to read comments after Tuesday, win, lose or draw, especially from the doom and gloom brigade. It's almost as if when there is nothing to moan about, something is created and that's a frustration. These boys are doing magnificently at the moment. They deserve our plaudits not our sharpened daggers and I am sure you would agree?

Which will go a long way to paying the £6k fine that we received from the N.L.!

Personally I thought we did alright against Poole, could’ve been better, could have been worse. But I can understand where some of those opinions come from.
Why is a different opinion always considered moaning? It’s just a different opinion to yours.
But given you didn’t attend the match it might be considered a bit rich commenting on the thoughts/opinions of those that did.
Just saying ….but it comes across a bit blue tinted.

I’ll judge us after 10-15 games.

You’re right, Reg, it was £8k. See here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57484251. Plus, as Space Raider said, legal costs which were at least £1,450.

I'll level with ya Wellard, I am not berating the fact opinion is different to mine, quite the opposite, I love a difference of opinion. You remember ;) A good few times we have gone toe to toe on here over certain matters but what I find hard to process is the comments such as that after a 1-0 win at home followed by a 3-0 win on the road as if we have some divine right to be better than the opposition every week. With these good results comes a level of expectation and I am guilty of it more than anyone. Just full disclosure, I did watch the whole match from the view point of the gantry and to be honest, I agree with yourself more than others, we did a professional job against Poole and we will always ride our luck when teams are throwing the kitchen sink at us for a goal as any side would at any level but the keeper is paid his wages to do that and the defence is the 2nd best in the league for a reason.

Tonight however, that might be a slightly trickier ask.
