Really looking forward to this one tonight! We visit Melksham and aside from the fact this could be the first opportunity that supporters have had to see the majority of our first team in action, we visit a club that are littered with former Chippenham links which is always good for the long standing fan. Of course Darren Perrin our former manager is heavily involved with Melksham Town FC and can usually be found around the ground doing bits. Nathan Rudge and Rich Fey our former management team are now in charge of the dugout at Melksham. Former players Luke Ballinger and Harry Rutty are still with the club I believe and of course they have a legend at the back in Chippenham's title winning captain and hometown lad Greg Tindle. It's always great to see these guys for the supporters and I am sure they will provide a very strong test for Mike and the boys.
Coming into this game off a very good start to pre season. 3-0 wins against both Clevedon and Cirencester and a 2-1 defeat to a very strong League 2 Newport County. One thing that needs to be stressed is we did this with almost a full team missing in terms of first team regulars and the gaps being filled by trialists and most importantly, Joe Sharples' academy lads. How well they have done as well! Not a single lad looking out of place and as a supporter, it fills me with huge confidence that should we fall foul of injury or suspension throughout the season, we have such a capable line of lads able to step into a multitude of positions.
Roll on this evening, tickets available on the gate (Different league restrictions) before the "why can't we do that" brigade appear in full And hopefully another win on the road for the Bluebirds as we creep towards the real testing friendlies of Taunton, Eastleigh and Torquay. Exciting times, oh it's good to be back! COYMB

Well said Voice, but I understand that Luke Ballinger left MTFC to join Corsham Town.

You would be correct and apparently doing very well the boy, fair play to him. As for last night was great to see Darren, Rudgey and Feyer again! Harry Rutty looks like he's enjoying his football as well which is good and Greg Tindle, what can you say about the guy! I am still fairly sure he could do a job here! He is just a rock, and looks like if anything he has got stronger, maybe lost a yard or two on the pace front but such a bullish and clever defender he makes up for it. Legend that man! 2-0 win for the boys, some returns as well which is positive and Santos is looking game by game a total find!
