Re: V Concord Rangers

Considering Puddy sent off first half (think we conceded from resulting free kick?) that’s a very good point

Re: V Concord Rangers

Good point given the circumstances. Guess we lose puddy fir a couple of games. Time to search for a keeper or bring in the academy lad?

Re: V Concord Rangers

Academy boy very good, but one step to far at moment for him.

Re: V Concord Rangers

Big blow with Puddy out, plenty of loan keepers available, pro clubs keen to get them out. We have always done well on that front, Jared Thompson Wil Henry and Bradley House all did very good jobs for us. Shame about today as I like all had targeted 3pts against a struggling team, but at least we gained another point, credit to stand in keeper great spirit from the squad.

Re: V Concord Rangers

Strange game that. Didn’t really dominate the early proceedings but had the better chances with Brad Ash going close from a header off a Stearn free kick. Concord didn’t really look like much until Babalola found himself free of our defence and one on one with an already committed Puddy. As soon as Babalola hit the deck the referee only had one option and Will was sent to the dressing room. Hanks goes in, free kick is scored and you think.. going to be one of those afternoons but in truth, that was the last meaningful attack on our net and we got to the half 1-0 down but by no means out of it.

Second half, Concord might as well have been the ones down to 10. Behind the ball, very little to offer and in fact Hanks was troubled far less in our goal than Haigh in theirs and it seemed that application and rushed work on our part was going to be the tell. However, up stepped the experience Stearn and Mann to combine once again to provide a well deserved equaliser for Chippenham and under the circumstances it was celebrated like a winner both upon scoring and at full time.

Given the red card and it being to such an important member of the team, today feels like a point gained when in reality it was arguably less than what we deserved from the contest but Mike will certainly be the happier of the two managers with the result.

Will should be ok for Tuesday but as many have eluded too, a loan keeper will almost definitely be the option with young Ben just a little too young I feel for this step up against NLS sides. We move to Hampton at home now and another very inform side where we are going to have to be at our very best to get the job done but another game, another point, undefeated in 3 and our own good run to protect! COYMB
