Next season, if and when it starts, could prove interesting. All National clubs are voting on a proposal that would see only Barrow promoted and Chorley relegated from the top division. Furthermore, only Wealdstone and Kings Lynn will be promoted from National South and North respectively. Should this proposal be accepted then either North or South will have to run with an odd number of clubs next season. Chorley will obviously be placed in National North so unless a club is moved from N to S, for example Gloucester City should they move home, then it will be the South. So if the reorganisation that was supposed to happen this season, is applied next season, then only one (not two) clubs will be relegated from National South. If the proposal is turned down, the season is likely to be declared null and void, so assume it would mean the status quo.
