Looks like Will broke his arm again last night. According to the G&H having surgery on Thursday.

This is absolutely devastating news. Will has been a complete revelation since his return from injury but we have done well without him as well as with him this season and I am sure whoever deputises will be more than capable of filling his big shoes! Best of luck Will and hopefully it will be a quick and speedy return from injury.

That's very bad news. Looks like we'll need the loan market again, especially if McDonald is struggling.

Good luck Will, hope you are back before the end of the season. This is the second Bluebird player to suffer a break on an artificial pitch. After breaking his collar bone at Merthyr Jack Allward never played for us again. I wonder if someone had carried out a study on the number of injuries sustained on 3G compared to grass. I bet the FA haven’t as they seem keen to shove these surfaces down everyone’s throat. Well done to the Football League who still refuse to allow clubs with such surfaces in.

Funny I had a similar argument with an old fella at Eastbourne about these surfaces whilst he banged on about them being the greatest thing ever. This right here is the biggest counter argument. Whilst less games are called off, you can play as many games as you like on the pitch opening up the opportunity for revenue elsewhere from other sources and they look pretty because of the even surface and clean white lines, players hate playing on them and for good reason. Will is the latest in a long line of people to be seriously injured on the surface, I seem to recall Greg Tindle having similar issues playing on the surface last season and caused an aggravation to his injury that required a surgery and lengthy absence. Still no one gets hurt but the players right? Why would the FA or any power in football care as long as games go ahead and people keep picking up their cheques

Presume Harry Rutty will be recalled, the lad was outstanding last season in Wills absence, as for 3G pitches I understood that Will broke his arm at home on the lush grass at Hardenhuish Park albeit on Jay Foulstons head. Big loss all the same, over to you MC.

Rutty is an option although I am sure MC will have plenty of irons in the fire, he rarely seems to lack a plan. Sadly yes although injuries can happen anywhere it does seem that a fair amount of injuries tend to occur on the more testing artificial pitches. Muscle injuries are a big one and let's be honest a fall on grass doesn't come without it's problems but a fall on that rock hard shit can cause a world of problems.

Sorry to read this. He was having a good game as well - the surface didn't help last night. With the rain, and how slick the 3G gets, a lot of players were going to ground, so surprised there weren't more injuries.

Will Richards has had his surgery today and according to sources, come through with flying colours. Now all is left is to wish Will a safe and speedy recovery in his bid to get back to the pitch as soon as possible within the realms of safety. Knowing Will he would try and play tomorrow such is his character but it would seem that we will be without our general for at least 2-3 months. Big blow to us.

Better ask your sources who’s coming in to replace him then 😉
