Attendance, Northampton

Will the club push for a higher capacity than they did against torquay let's say 2700,also like that torquay game not letting away fans into the bar won't go down well, big loss in revenue.
So ill go with 2700, any offers.

Re: Attendance, Northampton

I would be incredibly disappointed if the attendance is not over 2500 for this one, with the majority of those tickets relying on being Chippenham, I just really hope that the town gets behind us in a way that they have been known too in the past. This will not happen however, if we simply sit and wait for these casuals to come to us, we need to get out amongst it in the town, we need to make people aware in a short space of time that this game is happening and that these people are needed and wanted in attendance.

Not letting Torquay fans into the bar last time was in hindsight a smart decision, I personally at the time questioned why we are not milking that revenue but with the amount of Torquay fans that made the trip and of course the fact they carry a certain reputation for not being the best travellers, it was probably the right call from the powers that be.

What are the chances of the club applying for leniency on the rules surrounding alcohol and drinks in certain area's of the ground and what recourse do we have to police this. I know that Whyteleafe was a little different in terms of set-up but I only managed to make it to their club house, right at the very end and was 3 drinks deep because of the bottle bar, distributed into plastics outside. With a bit of careful planning and an increased order from the people running the bar, we could order PET bottles of Lager, Beer, Cider etc and realistically they would sell wherever you erected the temporary bar. It's my assumption that due to last years Gin Festival, the club have blessing to apply for a TENS licence and with that alcohol then being distributed under a marquee on the pitch, I cannot see how this would be different from say doing so in the top left hand corner of the school end where large amounts of space is not currently utilised.. Roger's old shop? Unsure of the condition it is in but it's a fairly easy in/out method of getting a quick drink, however, it does become somewhat of a task then to ensure they stay congregated in an area and whether we have the space to do so.

One thing is certain that we need to try and make sure we provide a good day out for our guests but for once I have to say the priority has to lie with ensuring that the Chippenham fans who may not have been for a while or the future Chippenham fans in waiting are the ones that need to be appeased here. We need to make sure this game swells our average attendance at home from around 500 to 600-650+ that extra 100 people or so would make such a tremendous amount of difference to the budget of the club and our push in the league. We are currently sat very pretty mere points away from the playoffs, I am not suggesting of course this should a realistic aim, but here in the optimistic army, we do love to dream.

Re: Attendance, Northampton

I hope we see vouchers handed out at the end of the game inviting fans back to a league match in November/December - utilise the captive audience whilst we have them here.

Fairly shocked we're not sold out with less than a week to go.

Re: Attendance, Northampton

More to the point, where are we in Chippenham? Yes we’ve got the sign out the front but there’s been hardly any press coverage at the moment, this whole week should be spent trying to gather as much attention for ourselves as possible.

Re: Attendance, Northampton

Drove past the ground this morning at 6.30am and no mention of the Northampton Town game on the Club's Fixture Board yet - hope we don't miss a trick here if late comers have not bought their tickets yet - assuming we still have tickets left of course.

I went past last week and there is a specific FA Cup tie board above the usual fixtures. Pretty sure it was there on Saturday too. Might have blown down with all the winds.
