Pinkman and Reginald74 you are far too kind chaps. Sadly I am far too marmite to be given a position of such responsibility but, I would absolutely jump at the chance to help the club I love maybe that's one for the future
The ticket situation, we are getting worried over nothing ladies and gentlemen, it's a home tie in the FA Cup, we will not leave ourselves short here. My personal inclination is that Northampton will be offered an initial 500 tickets, with Chippenham retaining 2000 for general sale and 300 left in limbo (these can be distributed to sponsors, comps etc) and as a re-assessment of the ticket sales to take place likely after the game against Welling. The idea behind this will be to get as many "Chippenham" of the 2800 available tickets as possible. The last thing we want to do in a tie designed to draw "armchair fans" and "casuals" back to the club is become the away side in our own home tie. Rumours of Northampton bringing thousands are completely unfounded. 5,000 Average Home Attendance, with a good 20-25% at the level being away supporters as well would be very unlikely that they would or could sell more than a generous 600-800 tickets at a complete push and whilst this might be an exciting, club changing tie for us and our fans, for them it's a banana skin and a trip they don't want to make. That being said I back them to sell their allocation when it is announced.
Northampton were watched last night believe it or not, such is the beauty of playing opponents further up the ladder than ourselves. No stone is left unturned by this management team and between Mark, Gary and there entourage Northampton will be as prepared for as any game we have had this season if not more so.
As for the talk of television, Hayes getting through last night against Oxford and being a home tie, I imagine that is borderline nailed on to be one of the selected 4, Leyton Orient vs Maldon & Tiptree is a big gap between the sides although at Orient and camera's tend to broadcast from lower league grounds in Round 1, Dulwich are facing Carlisle in an ironic twist, they sit at the lower end of League 2 whilst our opponents are now up to 9th and 3 points away from the playoffs. I would suggest we are quite an attractive tie. Home side, non league, the ground has a very non league feel to it, the club is quite steeped in history and ultimately, the FA Cup loves an upset and we are well poised to deliver one here. This game will be a contest, of course we will need a little luck and a big game atmosphere but something about this team is special. I personally would like to think this has the hallmark of a "televised game" but knowing our luck it'll likely be Hayes, Leyton Orient, Dulwich and Harrogate
Top work above guys in terms of helping Tony out, the work these guys do is invaluable to the success of the club on a week to week basis, often giving up time and resource at their expense to ensure we have an enjoyable Saturday afternoon, I would say we owe people like Toyboy a drink but we all know he's straight at the wicker basket of wine as soon as he's back in the sponsors lounge. Well done all of you, it's a top gesture and I am certain it is appreciated.

I wonder if the 'Mings' factor might play a part in us getting on TV. Its been well documented in the press that he use to play for us, albeit for a short time

One can only hope, I wonder if anyone has tried to utilise this by asking Tyrone to use his huge following on Social Media and the hype surrounding his persona to throw us a little love, big up the club ever so slightly and make more people aware of the fact Chippenham have made it to this point. I mean he has been back a couple of times, still has friends at the club, ex teammates (I believe he actually played with Dave Pratt, Gary Horgan etc.)
With the stakes what they are and television being the difference between making £20,000 from a day and £100,000 from a day, what is the harm in the club's various social media channels to reach out to Tyrone and ask him for a cheeky tweet or status. It can certainly do no harm and more is the point, allow us to ride that little crest of a wave that he has found himself on. Worst case scenario his now millions of followers are a little more aware of little Chippenham and what is going on down here?

What hope has the club gaining more fans when the local rag hasn't even mentioned that we have drawn Northampton in the first round proper. Shame on you G&H.

That’s absolutely criminal from the Gazette and Herald! I wonder if we get the result we are craving and Chippenham scalp a league football club they will be interested then?
It hardly seems that long ago they were so all over Chippenham, cardboard cut outs of the manager were appearing left right and centre holding a publication of the Gazette! Did we upset them somehow? Or maybe we aren’t as big news as we thought we were?

Do many buy the rag nowadays, most just read it online, hence the poor reporting.

simple, just put a batch of tickets for sale after the Welling game for those that attend matches regularly
And who would determine that?Determine what?
Those 500 odd that aren’t season ticket holders and attend the Welling game get first dibs, after that they go on general sale. Win, win as you might get a few more thought the gate for Welling. So nothing to determine.
Sorry read your original post wrong... missed the welling game bit 😄

I can’t believe in 2019 the only way to buy a ticket is cash only at the bar between certain hours. My work shifts make it difficult to go and collect so will have to pull a few favours!
Having Bluebird budget boosters and collection buckets is all well and good but until someone in the club embraces 21st century living and spending habits then we will always be a small club punching above our level.
Online club shop, online tickets, pay for a drink at the bar with a card!!! Am I the only one who sees this? 😑

I have mentioned this to the powers that be before. A lot of the younger generation don't carry cash, imagine an away fan going to the bar or to buy his ticket only to be told it's cash only. It quite a walk to the nearest free cash machine. Even market traders take cards these days, so yes it's time we got into the 21st century.
