With all these 'causal' fans intending to come to the game I just hope that all the regular supporters who turn up every week come rain or shine manage to get tickets - I have a season ticket so shouldn't be a problem for me but I hope the club come up with a plan for the other 500 (ish) to ensure they see the game.

Surely that’s only a good thing the casuals coming along... should hopefully bring a new wave of supporters.

Get your point about the other 500 but we had this in 2006 and I’m sure those who want tickets will get them. It will no doubt be all ticket, remember going to collect a load in the clubhouse last time from Sandy 👍

simple, just put a batch of tickets for sale after the Welling game for those that attend matches regularly.

Agree with many of the points above, starting with Chipp54. We will go into this game really fancying our chances of upsetting the League club, most of the messages and responses emanating out of Northampton fans so far is that this is a horrible draw for them.

Reginald, you could not be more right in what you are saying, it's unreal to think only a few short years ago we were getting thumped left, right and centre and looking like candidates to be sliding down the pyramid as opposed to what happened a mere two years later. Credit has to go to Mark and his management team over the years for constantly assembling a playing squad well within their means to achieve not only above our expectation, but to continually do so and this 1st Round game is a testimony to the work these lads have put in. Very deserved.

Insideleft, my initial reaction when the tie came out is that Northampton was a good draw and the relief of not drawing a National League/North/South team was met with a little cheer. Then I looked at the rest of the draw, there isn't much that jumps off the page with Chichester getting the bye, that's a guaranteed television tie gone. The standout's have to be Leyton Orient vs Maldon & Tiptree and Hayes/Poole vs Oxford City, other than that, it's much of a muchness to who get's the coveted spots. Some would argue Harrogate vs Portsmouth but personally it's been done before, Portsmouth as a draw are increasingly slipping and none of the other "big" clubs in the hat got a draw that is remotely attractive.

This one is key, people in power need to remember that we are not playing Torquay this time! Last year they were hell bent on being at as many "away" games as possible because it was seen as important to do so and we got their title party with a bumper crowd out who had purchased tickets before they were handed the crown so many seeing this as a huge game in terms of their season.

Northampton should be given 33% of the capacity. Give them 1000 tickets to sell and we retain the other 2000 and sell them ourselves. It's vitally important that the club, it's staff, volunteers and otherwise are very pro-active with this as they have little over a week to organise arguably the biggest game in the clubs recent history, certainly the biggest home game since Vauxhall Motors in 2000. The difference being that was that talk of the town for months prior, people were very aware of that game taking place and with this one, unless you're connected to the club via social media you aren't going to be aware that Chippenham have made the 1st Round against League opponents (or at least aren't likely too).

This needs to be advertised well, around the town not just at the Bristol road entrance, we need to apply for some sort of leniency from the council if possible to ensure that away fans are able to enjoy this day, get a drink, get some food , we need to squeeze every last drop of juice from the fruit or the drawing of a EFL team is irrelevant, we may just as well have played someone lesser with a better chance of progression. Northampton are there for the scalping however, if the fairy tale doesn't come, we need to make sure that this day goes down as one that people remember, that brings them back to Chippenham Town whether it be again or as a new time, returning supporter. Get the Merchandise stands out in force, have them at the bloody entrance to the car park if needs must, make that run up to HP an absolute gauntlet to get through. Back our own causes! While the casual fans are in. BLUEBIRDS BUDGET BOOST, get those buckets out for loose change, send a few willing volunteers around all ends of the ground. There is a good chance we sell out here. If 50% of the crowd put in a pound, its £1500 extra the club make for the BBB.

The club will need volunteers in order to make this day go off without a hitch, we have always had a large element of help from these volunteers and if you are able to do anything, lend a hand, spruce the ground up a bit, help with preparations etc. Or even able to help on the day, get in touch with Neil Blackmore and I am certain he would absolutely relish the help and support and point you in the right direction, failing that Tina Hemmings up at the bar would also be a good port of call.

We all need to do as much as we can to help make this a huge affair, pack the park and get behind the lads and see them through into the history making "Round 2". There is a scalp on here I am telling you, those boys are bang up for this! Sea of Blue again, make this a very intimidating place for these big time ballers to come and play at, force the mistakes and our lads will thrive under the big game atmosphere, they always do.

Voice, you would make a great commercial manager at the club.

Re: Northampton at home

Hobgoblin - that is a very kind gesture and much appreciated. Shall we say 8am onwards, as hopefully it will be reasonably light by then ? If anyone else would like to lend a hand anytime over 07/11/2019 and 08/11/2019, that would lighten the workload no end. It's a general tidy-up of HP, the priority being the top bank terracing that needs weeding, followed by a tidy-up of the Car Park. Look forward to seeing any willing volunteers over those 2 days leading up to the game.

So who's made the short journey to Carlisle tonight to spy on Northampton?

Determine what?
Those 500 odd that aren’t season ticket holders and attend the Welling game get first dibs, after that they go on general sale. Win, win as you might get a few more thought the gate for Welling. So nothing to determine.
