Re: FA Cup Whytleafe

So after all the weeks “let’s not have another Slimbridge, Paulton etc. Today was about as competent and professional performance as we could have asked for. Never looked in danger of the result not going our way from the first whistle. After the recent performances and cup exploits it was a little anti climactic in truth with Chippenham out of sight by half time really.

One thing that has to be said is how incredible the support was today from not only the same old faces but the guys we don’t always see away from home. The cup is special, it brings that intensity with it but my god, if we could replicate even half of that week on week, we could really stand a chance of being that 12th man again!

All the lads could do after was rave about how amazing it was and the scenes in the bar afterwards were enjoyable to be a part of and see. Just Chippenham fans, having a drink and sharing laughs and memories that will last a lifetime..

This is ours to enjoy now, roll on Monday night and the draw for the next round. Whoever we get, they are going to be up against a united club and the powerful BLUE ARMY!!

Re: FA Cup Whytleafe

Great result. Never in doubt when the chicken bus I boarded in Belize city enroute to Mexico this morning was made by Blue Bird

Re: FA Cup Whytleafe

Great day, very professional performance, players appeared very appreciative of the support. Good to see Will back on the pitch albeit with heavily strapped arm.

Fantastic day out got to enjoy days like that and the positivity around the club at the moment. All credit to the play, management team and the board for their continued backing. Got to love the magic of the cup, just anticipating who we get next is brilliant!

Re: FA Cup Whytleafe

What a day yesterday was.  It made real change to see Our beloved team come in to a big game and win it comfortably. Without having to hang on in the last ten minutes or conceding late goals.  The hole day had real class about it.   From the moment I spoke to Mark pre match I knew we would win.  The performance was spot on and we bossed around 80% of the game. There were quality performances put in by the whole side and the subs. But if I had to pick one guy who has given it everything not just yesterday but week in week out it would be Parselle. And the sheer joy on his face as the final whistle went was a real treat.  You could tell how much it meant to him and the team he leads so well as they celebrated with the fans on the final whistle.  Also it was great to see John Applegate and Neil Blackmores beaming faces just after the game as they clapped and cheered the Bluebirds off of the pitch.Big respect to the Bluebird fans who turned up in huge numbers to make it like a home game.  With out guys like John and Neil and the rest of our hard working board we wouldn’t be involved in special days like these. Congratulations to Mark, Horgs and the whole squad.  Now I fancy Bristol Rovers away in the next round. Or any big league side that the TV cameras will want to show. Live. Then the serious money will start to come in.  Roll on the draw at 7-10 tomorrow.  Happy Days.  😀😎

Re: FA Cup Whytleafe

Got to agree Jono. A class performance.  I didn't feel the usual tension I feel when I watch Chippenham in big games. A really enjoyable day with great support.  You also had a pretty big grin after the game in the bar Jono. Well done Mark and team. 👍

Re: FA Cup Whytleafe

Thoroughly enjoyed the game and the performance on Saturday, and what struck me most was the midfield paring of Whelan and Youseff. These two guys look the business in midfield, with their vision and distribution the key to unlocking Whytleafe. Excellent vocal support from the mass of CTFC fans, and even the Whytleafe fans who my group stood by were very complimentary of everyone's superb backing. Nice to go to a club who are gracious in defeat and thanking us all for coming - a great little club.

Re: FA Cup Whytleafe

You know TB, I am absolutely in agreement with you Whelan looks the business and of course we are all aware of Elias' talent and Gunner when introduced was also flawless. Haines provides an absolute foundation for the midfield to now be a little more expressive with his work rate and energy. And as for the Whyteleafe supporters and as a club in general, what a fantastic little place to visit. Pre-match we could not have been made to feel more welcome as supporters and then after the game, fans of the club stopping behind to shake a hand and wish the travelling support the best for the season was a lovely gesture. Into the bar and some lighthearted, jovial banter with the singing and chanting in the bar reminiscent of the days of old on the road when we used to take over clubhouses and show a passionate vocal side to our support. And, just as we thought their hospitality could not be anymore wonderful, over comes their chairman with two big jugs of lager to lubricate the throats for a little bit more.

Truly a wonderful day out and a thoroughly professional performance from the team on the day making it all the sweeter for the travelling supporters. Fingers crossed for a good draw this evening to truly make this the worthwhile endeavour for our lads
