Tyrone Mings

ex Chippenham player Tyrone currently making his England debut
Unfortunately there is some racial abuse from a small section of the crowd
Nevertheless well done Tyrone!

Re: Tyrone Mings

Watched the game yesterday evening, and thought Tyrone put in a very solid performance considering all the nonsense going on off the pitch. FIFA really are spineless when it comes to situations such as we witnessed yesterday evening. His post-match interview was impeccable, and I think a lot of people would have been impressed by his views on how the racism situation was handled. He is a credit to Adi his Dad. Also nice to hear Chippenham getting a mention before the kick-off - Let's hope the nation hear a lot more about the exploits of CTFC after Saturday - COYMB.

Re: Tyrone Mings

Known Ty a long time, parents were friends growing up, same school and of course through Chippenham Town when we used to kick the old Panda Pop bottles around down by our pitch (The entrance to the third turnstile to the bottom of the stairs to the clubhouse) but I have to admit even I am surprised at the professional he has become. Handled his debut with absolute ease last night, comfortable in possession and a clean sheet tells you what you need defensively. But, more than anything I am impressed with his character, this is a man who is only about 4-5 years into his professional career and has handled every hurdle impeccably. Transfers, big expectation, injury, re-invention and now an England cap. What a difficult situation to be placed in as well with GS clearly aware of the Bulgarian reputation and not only Tyrone but all of our players handled themselves remarkably well. Chippenham getting a little mention was replayed a couple times on the old Sky+ but now we need to go and create our own legacy this weekend. COYMB

Re: Tyrone Mings

I can only agree 100%. I didn't watch all the game but thought he looked very confident and solid in the team. Given all the other awful non-football conditions he and the others faced, I would be surprised if based on his performance this will be his only cap. It should be a reminder to all non-league players, not just ours, what is achievable for them.
