St Albans Away

Well a fairly decent start by all accounts. I don’t think many would have been too greedy away from home, opening day, I think most would happily have taken the point and a solid point with that defence proving that it’s going to be quite stingy this year.

Shocked to see Jarv on the bench but I am almost twice as sure there would be a reason, he’s gonna be chomping at the bit for Tuesday night with the front three failing to notch today. A luxury for any manager to have, hunger from the bench.

Few comments about Josh Smile today against Stockport. Has to be said he would absolutely excel in a game where pressure isn’t applied as much and is given more time to be expressive on the ball. Will have put some league sides on notice with his performance today in truth and wish the man all the very best.

Roll on Oxford, they took the expected beating today against Concord, with all the pre season chat about Concord’s strength (or lack of) we should be absolutely buzzing for Tuesday to get Oxford down to our place and hopefully pick up the three points.

Well done everyone today. Mark and Gary, the lads beyond the white line and of course those travelling fans who made such a great effort to be there for opening day at quite accelerated cost for this level of football. Credit to all. First point on the board, that 13th space we love occupied and full of excitement for Tuesday night.

Re: St Albans Away

Positive start to the season, draw your away games and win your home ones as they say. Time to back up this performance with 3 points Tuesday. Looking forward too it. Well done

Re: St Albans Away

Played really well first half, looking dangerous with what looked like a perfectly good goal by Pratty disallowed for offside, Parselle had a volley excellently saved and Hopper missed with a header.

Second half we looked less of a threat but worked hard. The back four looked solid with Gunner, Haines and Evans combative in midfield.  A good point and day out even though it was £18 to get in.

Re: St Albans Away

Expensive day but a good one in the sunshine, Foulston and Haines had very good games as did Luke Hopper who certainly looks the part, Tyler looks the Gary Neville of non league let’s hope we can back up this performance on Tuesday.

Re: St Albans Away

Parselle in the team Conference South team of the day, he has been a very good signing and a very reliable defender.
