No worries St Albans play - Stevenage (Div 2), Barnet (National). We've got Melksham Town.
Yes I take what your saying about the pitch, but this is a disgrace! So we can't play a higher ranked team in the whole United Kingdom away from home? Who is the person at CTFC making these decisions?

Perhaps it’s higher ranked teams that don’t want to play us. If the lads are training twice a week what’s the point of friendly games there just another training exercise

1cooky, that has to be one of the most ridiculous things Ive ever heard. Clearly never played the game.

Every team in the world plays pre-season friendlies, elite level coaches and managers, sports scientists, physios all club together at each team and put plans in place to get their respective teams up to speed ready for the first game of the season.

This includes friendlies, competitive friendlies to work on set pieces, phases of play, game plans, test fitness, strategies, shape amongst a host of other things.

Let’s just train twice a week on the school field and go straight into our first leave game. You should delete that comment before too many people see it

Re: Pre-Season games

As well as letting the pitch recover to be able to play the passing game Collier prefers, there is the major work outside the ground where new sewers are being installed under our car park. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find this work was a factor and the club are hoping this is completed before the first home league game

Re: Pre-Season games

Went to Twerton last night and saw Bath v Bristol Rovers. The score was 2-0 to Rovers (which is what you'd expect). Bath gave them a decent game and their manager would have learnt alot about his team.
What I do know is the game will have wetted the appetite of the supporters. I have no doubt Bath will be up there. Too bad Chippenham couldn't have a similar experience!

You genuinely believe our budget is 3500?

Can I ask where you heard that?
