Please, please ,please, my wish for next season would be a playing surface that lasts all season.
I know the chairman and everyone at the club does a great job,but it really grates with me that every time we beat a team at home, away fans moan about the pitch shocking etc.
Also the amount of injuries we pick up, might be something in that.
Having the park playing on it doesn't help, that's another issue to look at.
It looks like the quality of the surface has got worse over the last few seasons, last summer's heat wave really hit it hard.
So fingers crossed it looks great come August, and no more embarrassing write ups.

Park shouldn't play on it. It won't fix all the problems but it's a start.

Don’t think that Stanley Park would fulfil Western League regulations.

True.
Investment in the pitch then if it's being used every week. Lots of pitches have struggled this year tbf.

A 3g pitch is the obvious answer

Not with a slope like ours unfortunately. You would need to build up the bottom end of the pitch by the Snack Hut by approx.9 feet for approx. one third of the pitch to make it anywhere near level with the top end. You simply cannot lay 3g pitches on a slope

Cirencester Town have a 3G pitch with a slope.

AJG - I have visited Cirencester Town on a number of occasions this season when we were away and too far to travel, and I can assure you their pitch is now perfectly flat. Getting the pitch level was part of the deal in laying their new 3G pitch, and the contractors had to raise the level by 2 feet at their Dome end to achieve a level surface, and what a brilliant jog they have done to. Ciren's is probably the best 3G pitch I've seen. Apparently the whole scheme cost in excess of £1.5 million, partly funded by local businesses and the Council. Perhaps NWDC would like to get involved. Oh hang on, they only support rugby don't they ?
