Gazette & Herald

Considering it was our biggest game of the season and that at one time the used to be our shirt sponsor you would think that the G&H would have a match report up by now. But nothing a full report on the Swindon game and report on a canoe race  but not a thing about our game against Torquay. I'm sure it took place I was there, but maybe I was dreaming?
When the local rag can't be bothered to carry a report what hope do the Chairman and the board have of promoting our club. Even the regional TV was more interested in a club being relegated ( W.S.M.) than one who is successful.
So come on media get behind your local team, football in Wiltshire isn't all about Swindon.

Always get good coverage on BBC radio, Pre game and post game interviews  do agree re GH coverage being limited.

Re: Gazette & Herald

I have to agree the Gazette and Herald coverage of our games is absolutely hopeless. On a number of occasions I have asked for corrections to be made to the reports on our games and they have totally ignored me.
I think the problem is that the G&H is rapidly becoming less of a regional paper hence its general news coverage is so widespread it's almost not worth reading.
It is sad that the Club can't rely on its local newspaper to extol the Clubs success it's had over the last few seasons.

Re: Gazette & Herald

One week on and another match that was reported still no match report on the Torquay game. Conclusion I was dreaming and me and the other 1900 fans were somewhere else and the game didn't take place.

Re: Gazette & Herald

Totally agree. The G&H is a pale shadow of its former self. The majority of articles contain errors of spelling and/or grammar, and some are downright inaccurate. As for the Torquay game this was a major occasion for the town, not just the football club, so to be ignored seems almost unbelievable.

Re: Gazette & Herald

Local newspapers, which at one time were nearly all independent, have been bought up by big businesses like Newsquest Media who own over 200 local papers. The G&H was essential reading for a lot of Chippenham folk, but not any more. Journalists now seem to spend their time regurgitating stories they've picked up from social media.
