Forget the gloves, if Compton had some desire then we definitely wouldn't have conceded at least one of the goals and he'd have probably assisted one. His attitude is one we don't need. Thinks he's better than he is.

Compton didn't cover himself in glory but then show me a player outside of the substitutes that did??
Jack rightly rates himself. A big signing for us close season from Bath via Portsmouth and hotly tipped to go back to the Football League.
Maybe instead of jumping on expressive players we should support them. That man has the tendency to light up a pitch, he went missing yesterday, two days prior he was in the NLP Team of the Week.
Come on Jack if you're reading this rise above and be the JC we know and love..

I tend to agree with BlackpoolBluebird on this one. No one is questioning Jack's ability, but he does go missing for long periods in games, and seldom fights back to win back the ball when did-possessed. This was plain to see at Bath on Tuesday, and that was why he was hauled off at half-time. In my view he should have been subbed well before then. To say that he is hotly tipped to return to the Football League is a bit rich - Football League clubs do not release good player's with the right attitude. I think Compton has an awful long way to go to prove he can make it in the Football League again !

I'm not sure Compton has done enough to make us love him!! Not really impressed me all season.
I'd heard his attitude was poor before he joined us, that's why he's not made it higher up.
On current form and I'm presuming a fair wage he'd be first out the door at the end of the season.
So time to prove us wrong Jack.

17 clubs (including loans) since 2006. Hmmmmm.

Was hotly tipped to go back to the Football League whilst at Bath and his signing was a real coup. On fairness difficult to make comments like he would be first of the door, especially given his quality. But yes, not the package to this point who knows what the rest of the season will pan out

I couldn't attend any of the 3 games over the Xmas period, so cant comment on Compton's performance, but so far this season I have been underwhelmed by him when he looked like a star in pre and early season games.
It has seemed odd to me that he is often on the bench or when he does start rarely, if ever, completes 90 mins without being subbed. Some of his assists and crosses have been a joy to watch, but perhaps he would like to be the one being provided to in order to put the ball in the net rather than the supplier/provider for others who are not finishing his assists?
My suspicion is that something is not right and maybe he does think he is better than he is (or at least better than those around him) and has an attitude problem, or perhaps there is a niggling injury which is being carefully managed.
It is interesting that so many here have come to similar conclusions independently and it would be nice if he could prove us wrong ASAP. The Bath games, given that was his last club who apparently were more than happy to let him go, should have been his opportunity to show them what they missed.

Hence why he'd be first out the door come the end of season unless something changes. Loads of ability but
his attitude stinks, and his effort level is terrible. Can't afford to carry anyone in this league. And given he must be in £200-£400 per wk, the money could be better spent else where.
Loads of clubs speaks for its self. Anyone remember Jake Reid!!
