Another really tough away trip tomorrow. There home form is very good and they have won there last three. We will have to be at our very best to get something from this game. But the lads confidence seems to be growing and Mark is able to pick the team he wants after a host of injuries. We looked a very good side last week the shape was very solid, playing against an exellent Hampton side. There were very good performances all over the pitch. If you'd have been at the game last week you wouldn't have know which team was near the top of the division and challenging for the title. We have to start getting a few points away from home. Tomorrow will be tough. Clarence Park used to be one my favourite grounds to visit an old ground with a great atmosphere right by the railway line. When we were both in the Southern Premier league, the last time we were there in 2012, we smashed there 12 match unbeaten run and right against the odds we beat them 1-4. A great day out. They couldn't handle Ross Stearn that day. So who knows. It was good to see Sands and Richards with kit on again. And we now have real completion for places. Hopefully Mc Cootie and Paterson will have recovered from there injuries and be back in the squad. I'm sure Mark will have the lads right up for it, right from the start. And we can start fast like last week. Take the draw. Yes. Good luck tomorrow to Mark, Horgs, Jas and the lads. 😎

As always Jono another great review of tomorrow's game. however, I've been talking to a supplier of ours this morning who are based in Watford, which is on 8 miles from St.Albans, and they had minus 7 last night, with the same forecast for tonight, so I hope St.Albans take the initiative and have an early pitch inspection, to avoid an unnecessary journey. If played though would settle for a point. COYMB

The best we have played away from home for ages, everyone put a shift in, the back four were well organised and Mullings and Fergy were competitive. We were the better side for 90 minutes but couldn’t get the goal and looked comfortable then a silly challenge by Smithy and we are one down. We were chasing the game when they scored their second on the break. So gutted at the end. Would rather of played rubbish and come away with something. Even more important now to beat the teams around us in the table.

Chippenham supporters will look at the score and say here we go again. Same old story. But if you'd been there you would think differently. Right from the first whistle we had them on the back foot. As last week the shape of the side looked good with Jackson leading the line and Twine pushing up along side him. When we were in the assendancascendancy. Both had good shots well saved in the first half as St Albans deffenders strugled to cope with the speed of our attacking football. With Guthrie and Bowman both pushing forward and putting in some first class crosses. St. Albans did come strong in the last five minutes of the half with Thompson pulling off a great save to keep the scores level 0-0 HT. The second half started like the first, with Chippenham on the front foot and the St St Albans back five were getting stretched by the very lively Jackson and Twine. With Mullings and the fit again Fergie pulling the strings in midfield. St. Albans brought on a couple of extra strikers. But with the last twenty minutes looming it looked like a goal would win it either way as both sides had dangerous attacks and shots on target. But defences on both sides were now on top. The board went up with four minutes injury time. St. Albans were pushing forward now and there wing back took on Matt Smith in the area. Smith lunged in and brought the Ladd down in the 92 minute. With the ref pointing straighth to the spot. I felt so sorry for Smithy who had a superb game, he looked distraught. 1-0. Chippenham pushed everyone forward for the last 2 minutes of extra time and were caught Three on One at the back with the last kick of the game. 2-0 St Albans. For once away from home we had played superbly well, probably beter than we did last week against Hampton. But we have come away with nothing. We have got to take our chances when on top. The look of disapointment on Marks face after the final whistle said it all. I felt proud of every single Chippenham player yesterday they gave it everything. When your down someone kicks you. But we must get our selves up quickly and not feel sorry for our selves. And take out our it frustrations on Concord next week.
In another Six Point home game. 😎

St Albans's manager on National South today, stated Chip defended well and St Alban's were lucky to get 3 points. He said a 0-0 would have been a fair result. Roll on next Saturday, get the pitch covered, under the stand.
