Re: Braintree

Guthrie is a liability at the best of times. Also I'm yet to see play a good set piece..

Re: Braintree

Got to agree this was a much improved performance and Horgs has certainly got the team fired up with the fitness work before the game rather than the casual amble out of tunnel we're used too. Great opening goal, so quick almost missed it as was changing ends. Their equaliser was due to a poor back header witch gave Jared no chance, his only choice was to try and clear the ball or foul their player resulting in a penalty and a possible red card. for the rest of the game we had very little of the ball and when we did we gave it back to them to easily. Bowman was outstanding but saying that all the players put in a shift against a very good team. Considering they didn't get alot of the ball our new forward line up looked like they could be the real deal once they've played together more. The only thing lacking was pace, no one to put their defence to the test  ( as Pratt would do ) they we allowed total freedom to play the ball out of defence without any challenge. On the subject of Guthrie his set piece balls we awful ( Andrews was the king of the dead ball).
Just a couple of other points raised in this thread, the drum Mike Tanner where have you been hasn't been a drum for years ( if memory serves me right didn't the locals complained about the noise after they moved in to their expensive houses near an established football club, much as they did to a local motor racing circuit). As for atmosphere and singing. Well we have an average gate of around 670 fans of which around about 20 sing or more often than not swear at the opposing fans. The only way to create an atmosphere is to get more people sing proper football songs. Do you sing Mike Tanner ?
Finally can anyone tell me what has happened to Abdi Noor, he was hailed a a great signing but hasn't been seen since.

Re: Braintree

I thought the crowd was poor at only 470 when announced - presume Braintree didn't bring that many, although those that did come were certainly very vocal - however I saw stats that showed ours was the fourth biggest gate in our league, so maybe not that bad
