Some decent eough opinions floating around and i'll make some observations.
1. We shipped too many goals last season up until Christmas
2. We drew when we should have won
3. We learned, we need to learn again,
4. JT is some keeper but for him, we would have lost the games we drew. MC needs to look at the goals we concede and how we as a team, give the other teams the oppertinities to score. JT wont keep them all out.
5. Jack has one hell of a handle on things for a bandwagon supporter!

Thanks 'Voldermort' - However my reference to the bandwagon was merely joining the forum - see below

'Wellard,' Appreciate you're entitled to your own opinion, however it feels like you might be out numbered on this one.

Jarred, as we know has a lot of class and ability (hence being a professional for Chelsea) - There is no two ways about it that the club have done very well signing him for the year. He is young, ambitious and only just starting his trade. Correct me if I am wrong but I would assume this is his first taste of mens football. Rather than picking out the negatives, let's get behind him and the squad on here!

As for confidence within the team, from what I read/hear the morale within the team is second to none. We are only seven games into the new league and it will take time to fully adjust, I feel the manager has been clear with his interviews that we need to avoid the individual errors, which will come. To say 'maybe the defence doesn't have that confidence' - How can you justify that?

What an entertaining game, few stand outs for me, front two as always, Guthrie and in particular Jared, some signing he was.

Agree with the majority of the comments above, especially about the gulf between SPL and National. I think it's absolutely key to maintain a good size squad with plenty of quality in depth as it'll be a brutal season with games coming thick and fast!

Entertaining game of Football! We could of been out of sight early on, few chances squandered but they'll come!

Second half, just a ten minute lull/lack of concentration and it's all square. Tough league but I'm sure we'll adjust!

Interesting to see the Hungefords managers resigned, was going to resign "win lose or draw" yesterday. Must have something up his sleeve!

No game midweek, so a chance to recuperate and go again!

Following Torquay Utd sacking their manager after only 4 games I took a look at the forum... interesting to see that Mark Colliers name is in the hat!! Very complimentary.

Looking forward to tomorrows game against East Thurrock, hoping for a another good turn out!

Will be interesting to see what the starting 11 is, guessing it all depends on the injuries situation! Do we have any updates on that front?

Strange dropping both full backs as they needed a rest, we have only played 3 games! Our discipline was poor in first half with Horgs and Guthrie getting needless yellow cards, when will Guthrie learn, even his team mates were having a go at him. Reckless challenge from John Beedon for the red card, but referee was brow beaten by their manager who berated the referee and asked him when did he last send off a player, and next tackle a straight red for Beedon, shame on managers who try to get opposition players sent off. Even down to 9 men Chip battled away and Pratty was excellent. Mike Jones looked useful, apart from red card, if it was him who committed the foul.

Inthebox, who said the fullbacks were rested? I'm sure it would of been a decision based on their performance at the weekend and as mentioned before I think Horgy was outstanding last night. Can only be beneficial having competition for spots in the starting XI.

Tough one to swallow, however a very resolute performance considering the circumstances of the sending offs! Normally not one to comment to much on the officials but a below par performance from them last night in my eyes, decisions were not consistent at all.

Mike Jones looked very comfortable at the back and as ever Tindle had a stellar game! I liked the fact the full backs were replaced after the weekends performance, keeps them both on their toes to fight for position and I thought Horgy played outstanding. Considering we had 9 men, I thought Poole looked mediocre at best!

Pratty a well deserved MOM! On to the weekend...

General Discussion » New Signing ? » 15/8/2017 12:37 PM

New to the CTFC Forum! Jumped on the bandwagon following my visit to Twerton Park where I watched our dominant display, lots of mentions in the crowd around things being posted on here, so here I am!

Good start to the season thus far, however will be a real test this eve considering the injuries but will be an opportunity for other players to shine! I see Mark C is working proactively behind the scenes to bring players in still, will be interesting to see if Mike Jones has a run out this eve. One player I am looking forward to see is Alan O'Brien, remember him from his STFC days, hopefully he still has the blistering pace!

Hoping for a big crowd. See you all there.
