Just been reading the ‘Salisbury Journal’ website - regular reports and features re Salisbury FC. The last article on Chippenham Town FC in the Chippenham Gazette is dated May 2024. We must have the only local paper in the country that doesn’t cover its local team. Doubt if many people buy the paper now, when they go out of business they might reflect on their poor coverage of the Chippenham area.

Yes. Disgraceful in this day and age really.

I'm assuming they don't have a sports reporter covering us, and their Swindon stuff probably comes from the Adver.

Back in the early 2000's they were even a shirt sponsor.

Reliably informed that the G&H have been invoiced for pictures used in their articles and haven't paid, I imagine that is something to do with them not bothering to cover Chippenham.

Won't help their cause selling papers.

Today's G&H (the edition that claims to cover our area) has two pages of sport, entirely devoted to Swindon Town FC (taken I believe directly from the Swindon Adver). Therefore nothing at all about local football, rugby, hockey, athletics etc. Pathetic.

Believe it or not, we are mentioned in the gazette and herald this week.Must be nearly a third of a page about Joe Andrews signing for Peterborough.
