Bath today

Why oh why do we have such an inferiority complex against Bath. Look at the history of our recent home results and performances against them.
Get bullied off the ball and let them get in the refs ear all game. They always seem to want it more.
Not naming names but there were at least 3 players who looked like they didn't want to be on the pitch today.
Let's hope next year we put a show on at the TSS.
Disappointed.

Re: Bath today

Really poor display. Embarrassing in all honesty. Little old Chippenham mentality on show and never gave Bath a game today. Will say it again - it is far too comfortable for some at Chippenham.

Quite obvious those in a blue shirt were not up for it and didn't want it enough. Add this to the usual predictable style of play and home supporters who paid on the gate today were definitely short changed. Not a good look.

Re: Bath today

I personally think the fans would be horrified at the wages paid to the Chippenham players!
Every season we seem defeated even before the game starts against Bath! The fans deserve more!!!!

Re: Bath today

Beyond disappointing today, no pride, no passion, no leadership from bench, no leadership on the field, poor tactics, poor use of subs, players out of form, playing players who are injury prone
I for one , left the ground wondering why I had wasted an afternoon watching chippenham get thrashed by our local rivals
Big changes needed to stop us dropping into a relegation battle but I am not sure the club is brave enough to make the key that needs to be made

Re: Bath today

Unfortunately I agree with much of the above, particularly the comments about players not wanting it enough. Its difficult to understand why sometimes we just don't seem to turn up in home games whereas in others we are really dominant from the off. One thing I would add though is that we were up against the 'new manager' scenario, when players often seem to lift their game for a new gaffer.

Re: Bath today

Again awful. Seen too many games like this at home this seaon. Defensive minded tactics at home just don't work as evidenced by 3 wins all season. Slow build up, too much back and side ways passing gives the opponents time to organise their defensive lines. And when we do get in an attacking position all too often it's one Chippenham player surrounded by 4/5 defenders. What has the manager got against playing 2 strikers at home.
Big crowd today and a lost opportunity to encourage many of the floating fans to return. My assessment of awful was tame to some of the comments l heard.

Re: Bath today

Just listened to Gary Horgan's post match interview. Think he must have been watching a different game to the majority of the crowd!

You say big crowd but there was over a 1000 melksham, take off the 600+ from bath and it’s not really that impressive is it?

Re: Bath today

Two Boxing Day wins in the last 15 years. Jaw dropping.

Re: Bath today

Not a good day at the office, no end product and a lack of conviction in the final third. Bath wanted it more and it showed out there. I took my place sat behind the goal looking to be entertained and unfortunately it turned into a horror show. Almost pedestrian at times, not the usual fiery derby in more ways than one. The lack of atmosphere was noticeable as well, for a local derby was very quiet. Lads behind the goal were more interested in singing songs about Bath and abusing Bath players than supporting Chippenham. The one in a Stone Island jacket and goggle hat along with one in a grey tracksuit particularly, jumping over other fans to give gestures and to swear at Bath players after the penalty, utterly ridiculous.

Very poor day all around, I won't be travelling to Weston on New Year but hopefully Chippenham can put this behind them and do better against Weston as this performance will live long in the mind of the Chippenham faithful and not for the right reasons.
