Re: Chippenham Town v Frome Town.

As Inside Left says this was a very scrappy game. The  3 points we were both desperate for came to Chippenham. Although I thought Frome looked a far better side than when we knocked them out of the cup earlier in the season. This was never going to be a classic and for once we were able to grind out an ugly win. We now need to follow this up on Saturday with another result. Well done Lads.
Good to see a few smiles on faces after the game   Happy New Year.

Re: Chippenham Town v Frome Town.

Fourth highest crowd,Weymouth had nearly 1,000.Good to get 3points even if not the best of games.Pitch and wind didnt help.Thought we looked a much better team in the 2nd half.May be we have a better shape not playing with wide players?Hopefully something out of saturdays game it will be a good start to 2015.Happy New Year to all at CTFC.

Re: Chippenham Town v Frome Town.

4th highest.... Melksham got 445 on boxing Day. Do we not see this as some derby game?

Re: Chippenham Town v Frome Town.

The pitch was the worst I have seen it for many years, looked like a ploughed field, shocking, how can you play decent football on a surface like that.  The trouble is now that the Park are playing there as well, the pitch has not got time to recover. Anyhow, well done Chip in grinding out a result, hope another 3 points tomorrow.

Re: Chippenham Town v Frome Town.

Agree - probably the worst I've seen it.  Unfortunately the Park game on Boxing Day did it no favours. Hats off to the guys trying to prepare it the best they can.

Re: Chippenham Town v Frome Town.

I just can't agree with billyb's comment " May be we have a better shape not playing with wide players? Particularly in the second half  the stand side of the pitch was just a wide open space with no wide player and no full back who could attack. Severly restricted passing options as too much down the centre which was the worse part of the pitch.
Not the best of games as pitch prevented any decent football being played. Don't recall Frome having one shot the whole game. Mind you we only had about 3 nonetheless 3 very welcomed points.  Not sure Holgate is the answer to our attacking problems. Good at clever flick ons but other players need to be on same wave length for it to work but for a big bloke surprised any easily he gets knocked off the ball on one to one situations. Impressed with effort put in by Lee Phillips when he came on chased everything and deserved to start on Saturday

Re: Chippenham Town v Frome Town.

Dont think we had any options in the second half on the width front, Bally Ferguson and Guthrie all off injured, had to revert to defending deep [which worked} I am beginning to think that you really should have applied for the managers job ! or maybe you did , Holgate has had 3 games, give the man a break, however Leigh did work hard.
