Re: v Weymouth tonight

Many of their fans were tipping us for relegation pre-season

Re: v Weymouth tonight

A few of us were too!  - Looking forward to the game tonight, as I'm actually coming. I think it's nearly 2 years since I last got over, though I managed Bashley in 2012-13 and Hungerford away last season.

Re: v Weymouth tonight

I couldn't make it tonight, what was the game like, was it a fair result, did we play well?

Re: v Weymouth tonight

Too many defensive errors but we were competitive and went down fighting. Some dubious ref decisions. Bally could have got a penalty early on and the officials missed a blatant deliberate obstruction on Jones before their second goal. Their keeper gave away a penalty already on a yellow and could have been out for an early bath. We left it too late but didn't give up. Still missing Coupe and Griff - I think we would have won had they been available

Re: v Weymouth tonight

Good game for the neutral.  Thought we played quite well in parts, the difference between the two teams being their ability and experience in the final third.  I would think every club in our league would love to have Sills and Yetton up front.
Didn't see their first two goals clearly from the other end but it appeared there was poor marking, and conceding right on half time didn't help.  Considering it was a patched up side we did ok, but having to play Guthrie out of position takes all of our threat away on the left side.  We need a fit Matt Coupe and a strong centre forward, plus our suspended players back.

Re: v Weymouth tonight

Again, not easy to see from the opposite end but it looked like we pushed the self destruct button for their third with a poor defensive error that appeared to leave their forward with an easy lob over Kent. Thought we started reasonably well and deserved the lead after Tindle's bullet header from a corner around the half hour mark but the two conceded before half time rattled us for much of the second half when we seemed to have forgotten our earlier passing movement. The penalty came too late to give us real hope for a draw but generally agree with newfan. We battled well but the soft third we gave them proved the killer for us. Down to 11th now......but a long way to go yet.

Re: v Weymouth tonight

Managers summary on wilts gazette and herald web site spot on.Midfield more attacking but leaves defence more open.Still think we need another forward to challenge tall centre-halves.Some quality crosses went in just need to get on the end of them.No disgrace in last night.Weymouth fans thought their goalie was going to get sent-off,also they thought the pitch wasnt to good.Although we are playing better football apart from Hungerford its only two out of the last twelve points.Lets hope for a win on saturday or at least a draw.Watching football on a tuesday night doesnt get much better. At least there seems to be belief that we might challenge in the top half of the league.
