Compared to the Rovers game this was very much 'after the lord mayors show' regarding attendance and atmosphere. Ridiculously hot (why does the season start and finish so early when football is supposed to be a Winter game?) Several players I didn't recognise so presumably new signings or trialists.
First half the Yeovil back four were all over the place but we only managed to score one out of several good chances.
Second half saw the usual wholesale changes by both teams. Excellent penalty save by WH and a good second goal for Chippenham. WH replaced by a very young looking goalkeeper. So, 2-1 up with just a few minutes left and Yeovil score 2 very late goals from corners to win the game. Hard not to feel sorry for our replacement goalkeeper.
Well done to all players for playing in those conditions.

Agreed. Credit to both sets of players for putting some sort of show in that heat. Thought it was quite an even game with both teams having good periods.
The disappointing thing was the attendance. Yeovil brought a few, the weather will have no doubt taken its toll and Melksham/Swindon was up the road - all valid reasons. However, we are in the new era of having a full time media/communication manager and the promotion of the game was disappointing - barely a mention online on tickets other than 2 posts in the week, no mentions of previous games, no video promoting the game from players and ironically I see wee got Matt Chappel into do the highlights!! If I’m honest I see very little difference in approach from when we had willing volunteers compared to now and yet again the club is missing opportunities to grow. I hope it improves soon.
On media, does anyone know what has happened with Aaron Amadi-Holloway and Nat Williams?

An entertaining game with many positives. Nevertheless, 2 of our now almost inevitable ( and avoidable) kamikaze moments ( one of which drew the penalty) blotted an otherwise bright afternoon. Full-back/ wing-back problems seem to being eased; Ethan Vaughan looked comfortable on the left ( and there's always Will King as well), while Lewis Colwell was fine . The triallist with Number 15 on his back who has a touch of Gravata about him, did impress and he has defensive and attacking qualities too... and some pace. He looks a good option as an Alex Bray replacement or in a more free-ranging role.... if, of course, he comes on to the books.
Like Sofa Score Guy, I await news of AAH and Nat Williams. No sign of Jac Poffley there on Saturday.. I don't think. Injured presumably? Canice Carroll had a dreadful start and nearly cost us an immediate goal.. He settled a bit after that .. but is clearly susceptible to pace. and one-on-ones. Reece Fleet by contrast gets on with his work tidily and unfussily. Is Caine going to take on the Spokes role of playing in front of the Back 4? Saturday will tell us more...inevitably... as we get a clearer sense of a "best" or starting eleven.
