Non League Day on Saturday

Noticed Non League Day on Saturday for the game versus Weymouth is being counted down on CTFC Facebook and Twitter/X. Been out of the loop for the last couple of days and now see that Bath Rugby Season Ticket holders just like EFL Season Ticket holders can be admitted for £10 at HP this week? Is this really the only offer Chippenham Town are making to supporters, youngsters and the local community? By comparison Oxford City and Maidenhead are offering football for a fiver and was told today Melksham Town are having a free entry day for under 16's on Saturday.

Re: Non League Day on Saturday

It's a measly offer let's face it. But as had been said previously, I don't think the board care.

As it stands, kids aged 5-15 have to pay to get into HP, for me any under 13 should be free (or at least a nominal £1) at the football, encourage the next generation to come along and get hooked.

As per usual the board members are more interested in getting the dinners home or away than actually bringing in the next generation or even just keeping what we have, attendances don't lie!

Re: Non League Day on Saturday

It's a shame, a huge missed opportunity when our crowds have stagnated in recent seasons. Why not try something bold to get people who have never come before in the ground rather than just the same slightly reduced price for committed fans of other clubs (especially when our nearest professional club is at home anyway!)

Re: Non League Day on Saturday

is it not still the case that school age children get in free with one full paying adult on match days anyway? This was the case for years and not well publicised and if not then its a no-brainer for me to reinstate that for all games - the kids will want some refreshment as will the adult which is extra income the club gets for nothing and as stated above hopefully gets the next generation interested

School age children are no longer able to get in free with a full paying adult ….Club done away with that specific admission this season, i believe.

Re: Non League Day on Saturday

Not that they'd ever be made public, and perhaps the club doesn't even keep a record of them, but I'd be interested to know how many EFL season ticket holders actually visit HP on Non-League Day and which team they normally support. My guess would be less than 10 people.

I think there would be a few more if STFC weren't at home... I had a laugh yesterday when among the clubs CTFC's twitter was pitching to were Exeter and Swansea! As if any of their fans will 2-3 hr journey to watch us just because admission would be £6 cheaper!! 😂😂

Especially as Exeter could just pop down the road to watch Torquay v Bath City.

Re: Non League Day on Saturday

I agree with some of what has been said on here. The general feel of a home game is well off and hasn't been the same for a good 12-18 months. The sad sight of the drummer taking the drum back through the bar at half time said it all really, i am guessing like most of us in the ground he was utterly fed up of what he was witnessing. Some of the football has been borderline dreadful at home this season, if you had shown up for a first game on Saturday, there is no real incentive to return. There have been good moments and on the pitch it hasn't always been bad this year but the good times feel a lot more harder to come by.

The ground was more energetic, welcoming and inspiring in the Southern League days as well compared to the present day. The group who tried to create an atmosphere behind the goal which was at times strong in numbers have been suffocated by over reactions and long term club bans over the past couple of seasons for relatively minor indiscretions in the grand scheme of things and I counted only 3 or 4 of them there. They are not everybody's cup of tea but they at least tried to create some sort of an atmosphere and now there is nothing.

In recent games I have felt a pressure to part with my money, as soon as you get in the ground you are accosted for money with 50:50 golden goal programme club shop all being mentioned within seconds of you entering, the food is a rip off at a tenner for a poorly made burger and cold chips. one of the visiting fans also made this observation about money grabbing. It is almost like the club want to see how much they can take off of me from the second i enter the ground. No sort of initiatives going forward or seemingly thoughts about either the future or the past successes of the club. I have been coming to the ground for many years but it has become uninspiring, soul less and a shadow of what it used to be sadly and needs a boost ahead of next season or the dwindling numbers will only get worse.
