FT 0-3. Good first half but complete collapse at the start of the second.

Agree I thought we competed very well in the first half and were on top for much of the 45. Some poor finishing and good goalkeeping kept us at 0-0. With a bit more luck we would have been ahead at the break. It appeared Truro had a bit of a rollicking in the dressing room as they came out in the second half all guns blazing and we rarely had any control of the game thereafter. Well taken first goal swiftly followed by a free kick that went through the legs of the wall and then a defensive error with some poor anticipation by our loan keeper saw him lobbed for the third goal.
Some fairly bizarre inconsistent refereeing which mattered little to the result. Truro were much better at 'professionally' managing the referee than we were. I imagine he had an interesting conversation with the assessor at the end of the game as he came close to losing control in the middle of the second half, with a full-on handbags row of all players almost erupting over one rather trivial decision.

Spot on, newfan. We couldn't capitalise on a very good first half and should have gone in 2-0 up. Their quality and ruthlessness ( Tyler Harvey particularly) shone through in the second half and we were just not up to their direct, physical, savvy game. Morale looked a bit low at the end ( or was that just mine?) With Maidstone looming we probably need a proper re-group so this losing streak doesn't become self-fulfilling. Their fans were an unattractive lot. After a promising start, the referee was once again, poor... although not as bad as the official against Torquay. There's lots still to play for, and we desperately need to try to end the season with some uptick and an air of optimism. Excellent first halves against Torquay and Truro show what we can do... and give hope.

About the visiting fans... our announced 'zero tolerance' mantra for abusive language was laughable. No point in having it if not enforced.

A couple quite bizarre decision by the ref from drop balls. The first a drop ball to them which rather than being played backwards was allowed to be crossed straight into the box Creating a chance!! Then after a stoppage for treatment for a head injury with us in possession, the so say injured party was allowed straight back on, to contest and then win the drop ball.
Good job Coupey was sat in the stands!!

Truro certainly knew a few cynical tricks - first half they were playing for free kicks and incessantly in the refs ear over just about everything. Although credit to them for coming out of the traps fast down the slope - thought it was a weak collapse early second half from us - Not for the first time either this season. Because it was so quiet (was there really more than 400 there?) anyone vocal stands out and the only Chippenham voice i could hear loudly cajoling and instructing on the pitch was Freddie Grant. Looked like we didn't know how to stay in and get back into the game when Harvey got his first goal.
