With Reference to Club Captain Scott Lye.Due to many rumours circulating regarding our player & Captain Scott Lye the Club would like to state that Scott is still a Chippenham Town Player and our Club Captain.
He has asked for some time away and we look forward to seeing Scott in a Chippenham shirt in the very near future.

Well there we go. Perhaps some of the people who come on here with a "I know something you don't know" should perhaps check their sources a bit more carefully before going public.

Rumours are an inevitable consequence if fans aren't kept informed by the Club..

Like many things to do with the club at the moment this begs as many questions as answers but i wish him well.
I have posted before that i will support the boards decision to back Rudgy until the season ends and i will stick to it but i cant help feeling as though i am stood next to the captain on the Titanic.

I think that concensus is that we would prefer proactive rather than re-active communication. What has happened here would appear to be a case of someone deciding that something has to be said to stop the rumour mill. Surely it would have been far better to have "nipped this in the bud." Scott is a very popular player and we are all aware that he has had a recent tragedy in his family which may or may not be the reason for his needing some time away from the club - my point being is that if we are told we will understand. I don't mean that we need the details and the club message is fine it just took too long.
In conclusion my very best wishes go out to Scott.
