Wouldn't have kept him myself. If the rumours of how much he was on when he signed were true hopefully he's took a pay cut, hasn't been good value for me personally.
Also, anyone else think the club is trying too hard with making a big deal of announcing every single player who is staying? Hate to criticise what like many roles at the club is a volunteer position (and it seems any criticism of the club isn't allowed in eyes of some on here) but can't we just release a retained list like normal clubs?

I get that he is experienced and has been around the football scene for a long time but would be very surprised if McClure suddenly at 32 going on 33 years of age, becomes the regular goalscorer and dynamic striker we would all like to see.Would of moved away from him being a main player myself. Maybe he will be found a new role in the team if Parsons signs. Another announcement at 6pm apparently.

Jake Evans, good news but another one we already knew. Agreed that this is an annoying way of doing it. Dont mind waiting a bit longer for a retained list than at other clubs, but its annoying to have retained players drip-fed like this when presumably the club already know who's signed on. Not the end of the world though at least we are getting some good players retained.
McClure never hit his Gloucester levels granted but always looked a classy player to me with some good hold up play and a clinical finish- personally happy, if a bit surprised, to see him stay.
Bradbury staying is very good news, thought maybe another club might be in for him. Had a good last season and if he can build on that could be a key player next season.

McClure and Parsons could be a Sandell and Pratt partnership. To me playing McClure and Fas never really worked.Don’t mind bits being dripped fed.The club will never get it right for everybody, remember they are volunteers.

To be fair it makes it somewhat more exciting. On reflection, I think I was just annoyed they built it up just to disappointingly announce Evans who we already knew- same as Freddie as well.

Careful you’ll upset Cooky, but agree we are announcing players that signed in March

Really pleased to see Spokes and Mehew signed on for next season definetly 2 of our better players, looks like the club is managing to keep near enough everyone. Really excited for next season

Really encouraging to keep those two, Spokes was my player of the season and Mehew has always looked quality for us. Midfield pretty much sorted in my opinion with Spokes, Mehew, Evans and Bradbury.
Light at the back and on the wings with the current retained players though so ideally need to see some of Owen-Evans, Tyreke, Ed Williams, Haines, Eddie Jones or Amadi-Holloway kept on- presumably still 3 more days of 'retention week' though so am fairly optimistic about how we are looking.

Mehew signed a 2 year deal when he resigned for us. So has signed again.
Need a striker or 2 as well.

Blimey! That came in a rush. Delighted with all 3... especially the Big Man, but great to have Luke & Tyreke too. We have options and what looks like a settled side and very much GH's, too. Any recruitment news comes next, I assume?
