For those of us of a certain vintage, and can still remember the team from the early to mid-70’s, Dave Salkeld recently passed away.  ‘Geordie’ as he was known, for obvious reasons, was stationed locally and played for the club for a couple of years, around ‘74/‘’75.  He was a very consistent midfielder, always a 7/10 player and was in the team that won the Wiltshire Senior Cup in ‘75, beating Vickers of Swindon 4-0 in the final, played at The Conigre.  I’m told he had a very distinguished playing career with the RAF, representing them in Germany, and he went on to coach and manage the team.  RIP Geordie.
