Re: Taunton Town

Truro City have decided not to play tomorrow’s game v Eastbourne Borough at Taunton- they have moved it to Gloucester. That makes a combined mileage of over 750 miles, not helping to save the planet.  So if our game goes ahead on Wednesday it will take place on a mud heap but not a ‘ cut-up’ mud heap.  Meanwhile down at Torquay apparently their players had to drive to Tonbridge on Saturday as they couldn't afford a coach. No wonder they lost!

Re: Taunton Town

On a similar topic, Truro’s former landlords at Plymouth Parkway have moved their game this week to Plymouth Argyle. Has it been unseasonably wet or have pitch standards around this level dropped?

Also word of note to our groundsteam, can’t remember our pitch looking as good as it has in mid-March before.

Taunton and Parkway people seem to blame the weather and some defending the situation at Parkway have had a go at the southern league (not sure what they could do about a sub standard pitch which was in a state before the winter). As been mentioned before on this topic -  some regulation regarding pitch standards should be brought in. Not looked at the forecast for Taunton tomorrow but any little bit of rain could make things dodgy - at this time of year probably says more about the pitch than the weather. Guess the Parkway players are pleased to be playing at Home Park though.

Re: Taunton Town

Blimey we've really turned the screw haven't we - credit to all those involved, easy to switch off when it gets to this part of the season.

Really wouldn't want to face us at the minute

Re: Taunton Town

Another great result, not an easy place to go to, so hats off to all involved.  54 points, cigars out and Bath away on Boxing Day.  It’ll be interesting to see how we finish from here - the current squad is a good one, and  there are obviously some very capable academy lads coming through, so even the ‘glass half empty’ brigade should be getting a little optimistic for the future? 😉
