Re: Taunton Town

Surely it was blindingly obvious that were would need to be a pitch inspection and the club communicated that as soon as it happened and the result was known. CTFC and its media team would not be in control of the timetable for that.

This is unnecessary petty-minded carping. Anyone planning to travel would have been mad to do so - inevitable that the game would need to be postponed, the actual announcement was a mere formality

Re: Taunton Town

Taunton have signed two more players. Even their own fans are complaining saying they should be spending money on sorting out their pitch.

Re: Taunton Town

Whilst this Saturday Truro (Cornwall) v Chelmsford (Essex) will be played at … Gloucester City’s ground. Pitch might be a bit crowded as Gloucester City are at home on the same day. 😂

Re: Taunton Town

Gloucester kick off at 3pm, Truro kick off at 7:30pm. A ground hopper’s paradise, two for the price of one - only drawback is you have to watch football on plastic.

Re: Taunton Town

Taunton issued statement saying they can only pay players a percentage of their wages and nothing for the tax man so expecting another winding up order and transfer embargo.

Re: Taunton Town

After a morning’s rain the Taunton Town cabbage patch is again unplayable resulting in Truro v Weymouth being off. Truro are due to play there next Tuesday, if their game goes ahead we are due to play Taunton the next night - the pitch will be like a ploughed field so perhaps a ploughing match would be more appropriate. Perhaps we ought to offer to reverse the fixture to the TSS and after deducting  expenses  (ref, lino’s, gatemen, stewards floodlights etcetera) allow them the gate money. We would benefit from food and drink takings. The National League need to wake up and smell the coffee otherwise Taunton/ Truro will be playing five games a week at this rate!

Re: Taunton Town

1 p.m. Taunton announce pitch has passed pitch inspection.
3 p.m. Rain
5.30 p.m. game off.

Those travelling next Wednesday would be well-advised to keep a regular eye on weather.

Re: Taunton Town

There is football on tonight down in Taunton - unfortunately it is the european games on tv in the Taunton Clubhouse - according to twitter!!

Wonder when the league will step in? As been mentioned often over the last couple of months, It will very soon be impossible for Taunton and Truro to fit the matches in. There is also an potential integrity of the competition issue if both end up having to play weakened sides because they are playing three times a week in a short period of time.
