Dartford

That’s a great result! Probably on the road mid-afternoon and not likely to see their beds much before 2am.  Well done lads, top drawer.

Re: Dartford

Yes, great 1-0 win! Listened to it on the club's internet commentary, sounded a game of chances at both ends with Will Henry making several terrific saves. Unusually started with Fas and Matt M together. Well done to all involved.

Re: Dartford

We are clearly excellent whenever we play infront of a bare minimum amount of Chippenham fans.

I therefore suggest we vote with our feet and stay away from matches for the rest of the season. Play offs here we come!

(In all seriousness that’s a creaking result given the late arrival, hopefully a catalyst, well done all)

Excellent when we play two strikers maybe 🤔

Time to start getting some results at home.

Re: Dartford

We've actually won as many home games as we have done away games... we have picked up more draws and lost fewer games away from home though.

We're 20th in the home form table : Played: 17, Won: 5, Drawn: 4, Lost: 8

We're 6th in the away form table: Played: 15, Won: 5, Drawn: 7, Lost: 3

6th in one and 20th in the other, and we're 15th overall. Perfectly fine season if you ask me.

"Perfectly fine season if you ask me".  I'd always hesitate to take issue with you Blackpool Bluebird... but I think many contributors on this Forum would take issue with this statement.  Overall, I'm delighted that we are where we are results and Table wise. That's fine.  I'm far more worried about our Home form and the way it is clearly impacting gates and crowd engagement. Newbies to the TSS .. especially young families... want to witness success, goalmouth incident ( preferably in the opposistion's goalmouth) and a noisy supportive crowd, Whatever alchemy Gary & Matt are practising Away isn't working so well at the TSS.  Worryingly, I would guess that Braintree brought 60 or 70?? supporters last Saturday.  That means we only provided 450 or so of the gate, well down on earlier season numbers. I think the frustration being expressed by some/ many is that we have a collection of really good quality players, a really good management team... but are succumbing at Home too often now for it to be just bad luck or harsh refereeing. Whatever the causes, the symptoms are worrying.  We really really don't want regular supporters turning their backs on the rest of the season and for the remaining Home games played out in front of 400-500 crowds largely silent as was the case  last Saturday. Hence my call for some measure.. be it team set-up, crowd stirring.. anything that re-sets the Home game experience.
Results matter most... but style, approach  and intention matter, too as they attract new support and help retain existing fans....

Re: Dartford

I couldn’t go Tuesday so can’t comment on specifics. However going home and away more often than not I can assure my fellow keyboard warriors that we try exactly the same things we do at home as we do away from home.

Myself included, the home Crowds are too old and lifeless (unless there are things to moan about) and a lot of our fans are from a time where we were a Toolstation/Southern League club and prefer their football a certain way. Rightly or wrongly, we are now a young team with players who have been educated in a different way of playing football and that doesn’t fit the old guard.

As for league position - the next two weeks will see if we have any outside chance of flirting with the play offs.

Definitely understand your statements Rambler, I'm just always of the persuasion that not every season will be successful. I think the lack of home fans / atmosphere is something that has been addressed and does need to improve in some way though.

Bums on seats should always be a football clubs first priority.

What’s the club doing to address this?….nothing.
Like I said before match day experience is poor.
