Straight swap for Russe going to Bath?

Would see him as more of a Mehew with the video footage

I'd agree, seems to have more about him.

Re: New Signings

Think Russe has replaced Spokes at Bath but they are very different types of players. Jerry is good with the defensive scrappy players but doesn’t know what to do with the more technical ones and that is what Luke is.

I think we will find a way of making him a very very good player.

Re: New Signings

Was poor against us in the New Year’s Day game.
That said we have a history of turning their rejects in to very good players, Jarvis, Harvey, Henry etc, whereas Gill has a history of doing the opposite.

I’m sure he’ll be fine.
Just need a few defenders now.

Re: New Signings

Freddie Grant whose just left Farnborough is the next player to join. Left back who's very experienced at this level, still only 26 and has been good when he's played against us. Nice to get a defender in as well.

Younger brother of Harry Grant who played for us in the Southern League. Decent signing.

Re: New Signings

Ex-Bath judging by one or two comments on their forum - one kind soul calling him “chocolate ankles”.  He played 35 games last season so they must be of the tougher Toblerone brand. 😉

Re: New Signings

Defenders: The"chocolate ankles"description ( see above) is pretty ironic, as Freddie Grant's  direct replacement at Bath City, Dan Greenslade,  managed only 50% of games in his first season with them... because of...... injury. One Farnborough poster descibes Freddie Grant as a "a huge loss".  Feel we might be potential winners from this if he stays even reasonably injury-free. Still fascinated to see who might be our definite Centre Backs... or does it look like they will certainly be Will R and Luke Haines?  Luke, like Will, is  I remember excellent in the air and thanks to great natural  timing  can out-jump taller men. Given his size, he's not going to be bullied either. We seem to be exceptionally well served now in the LB positiion.. with specialists Will K and Freddie G, available ( and Leighton Tuodolo and even Alex Bray to be called on at a pinch, not to speak of Sam Heal .. also a leftie, I think).  RB: Eddie Jones ( if retained)?  No Spencer Hamilton in an emergency, so Leighton Tuodolo in his favoured position? Fascinating to see Gary Horgan's shopping list.... {To be continued.}....

Re: New Signings

Has Will R re-signed?  Haven’t seen or heard anything about him.  Wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve got a few “triallists” on show in our first friendly or two, as is the usual custom.  We certainly need one, if not two, central defenders I would imagine.
According to the latest edition of the NLPaper Eastbourne have gone full time, adding to the increasing number of clubs going down that route.  The most competitive NLS season yet is on the horizon.
