Fair play - salvaging a point after being 2nil down away from home is encouraging. Heard Philips scored both? Our "marquee" signing's stock has now risen to that of a "two-man tent". Let's hope this is the start of a decent haul of goals and we start getting value for money. ;-)
Heard Josh Egan is back in the fold - did he play?
Watched the 'Park' today - they were winning 3-0 when I left to catch most of the Corsham match. Park have one or two very promising 17/18 year olds and play some good stuff, albeit at a much reduced pace than the Southern Prem League (or Western come to that) but it was good to watch.

Given Neil Blakmore has backed Rudgy then i feel we must put any doubts to one side and give our full support to the team for the rest of the season. It certainly wont be dull and after todays fight back I am happy to give credit when credit is due. That we ALL support the club is a given so let us hold back on the negatives ,i do not count consructive critisism as negative, and pull together.

Why must we put doubts to one side, I had reservations at the start of the season and one point against a team below us in the table, yes it was a well fought point but it's not going to change my opinion about Rudge as a manager.
Before my view of Rudge changes I want to see a well organised team with somethng more than a long ball game and players all pulling in the same direction not just turning up the money.
Let's not get too carried away, it's a point against a team lower than us in the table,, have we sunk that low that it's somethng to celebrate?

This was a game of two halves if there ever was one. We started with a flat back four with Rudgie and Tindle in the centre, bringing in the two young Exeter loanee ladds Jordan Tilson and Jacob Wannell at full backs,Scott Lye taking over the captaincy making up a four man midfield with Harvey,Guthrie Griffiths,Phillips and Knighton coming in upfront. We had the best of the first 20 mins with a couple of half chances,we lost Guthrie with a ankle injury,Toby Osman filling his wide spot, this seamed to upset the balance of the side and Bedworth took control, with there tricky left winger Tom Bates who had rejoined Bedworth only the day before, returning from Barwell. His free kick on 39 mins found there big centre forward Lorraine his powerfull header finding the bottom corner. Two minutes later Bates again caused us problems picking out the diving Lorraine to arrow his header into the bottom corner giving the diving John
No chance, setting off wild celabrations from the Bedworth players,What ever was said during half time it seemed to fire the players up.The second half we changed the shape pushing young Wannell forward and it worked with Bedworth being forced on to the back foot,The ball was worked out wide to Scott lye
tightly marked by two defenders some how he dumied and spun past both of them to produce across for Phillips to power his header into the top corner on 56 mins. We had a couple more chances before the ball was passed and squared back to Phillips on the edge of the box who lashed a cracker right up into the top corner, Alan Griffin had a half chance late on to win it. A lot of positives from the game they showed great togetherness to come back after it was looking very bad at half time,Scott Lye seemed to revel in the role of captain, the atmosphere with the players was good on the bus on the way home, another 6 pointer on Tuesday at Bashley. Like Corner Flagy says we all need to get behind our team and the management.

good to see lee Phillips scored 2 on saturday as a opposed to warming the bench! Heard that it was a great ball from Alan Griffin to set up the 2nd? Like to think that Alan and Lee will get some more playing time together as I feel they can be a potent force given the chance. Good recovery which was a credit to all the team but the question still has to be why did we get into a 2 goal defecit against a struggling side.
Steve Casey was watching Larkhall on Saturday so it was nice to be able to thank him for his efforts at Chippenham over the last 5 years and to wish him all the best for the future.
