Devastating defeat at the end. Not deserved.
Leighton Tuodolo was excellent, what an academy we have producing players like him, Caine, Will King, Landon, Noah, Ola - we are very lucky on that front.
Problems though are obvious, clock is ticking on Greenslade for me, missing too many good chances. Bray looks a shadow of himself since coming back.
No Parker, Hamilton, Hanks, Fasanada, Tizzard, Jones, Simpson, King. I’m told Jordan Young is playing through an injury too. To have all those out and still play like we did is remarkable. Take 8 players out of any team and see what happens to them.
Play like that every game and the wins will come-a-plenty.

I think the Voice must have been watching the game through not one but two pairs of blue tinted glasses! A terrible game with two poor sides. We didn’t deserve to lose as neither side deserved to win. For most of the game either side looked capable of stringing 2 decent passes together. The only positives l could see were the performances of the young lad at left back and Gunner who seemed to play as if he had a point to make.
We may have been without a number of players tonight but results have pretty much been similar all season regardless who plays. In 7 out of the 13 league games we have failed to score . It seems to me we seem to start a game on the basis of playing not to lose rather than trying to win. How many times do you see it in a game when we have defended a corner with 10 or even 11 players back. Even leaving one player up front means if he gets the ball he has no support whatsoever and back goes the ball putting the defence under more pressure. Can’t fault any player in terms of the commitment or effort but this alone doesn’t win football matches. We have the worst attacks but fortunately one of the best defences or goodness knows what our league position would be. Hopefully when Fasenmade is fit he will made a difference as something needs to change.
Final point. Why when you post on here pointing out what you witness on the pitch in some peoples eyes you are moaning when all you are doing is pointing out the obvious

Amazing how it differs in opinion. Thought it was a good game, not awash with chances but thought we played some nice football and had the better chances.

I thought we started slow again and teams must be aware this is a failing of ours because every game they come at us very hard from the kickoff. Gradually got more fluid and were the better side in the second half. But undone by a headed goal from a corner in the 94th minute. As we've done this ourselves to opponents a few times it felt less deflating than it should have been, but I think we deserved at least a point. Leighton easily MOTM what a debut! He took a couple of hard knocks so I'd hope he is fit to come on again soon. Gunner struggled initially as makeshift full/wing back but was superb in the second half. If Lincoln are having us watched they won't be worried but right now they aren't seeing our first choice team with illness, injury and suspensions. We lack a bit of confidence upfront despite the industry but do need to learn how to stick the ball in the net and convincingly so and then the confidence will come.

Here we go again, one person makes a comment being disappointed with the game and we are all accused of being moans Yawn.
I browse other clubs forums and they are not like here, they respect peoples opinions and discuss the game. on here its like you can't criticise the team with the blue tinted gang getting aggressive and sometimes personnel.
I said before its my right as a paying fan to be allowed to comment on performance, the bar is full of people doing it, but you won't hear me criticising the volunteers publicly, they do a great job. Remember the players are being paid.
On to the game.
I said before earlier in the season that we are a hard watch and got shot down in flames by the BTB.
Anyone really think that was entertaining last night?....really?
Yes we had players out, yes the young left back did well, especially going forward but we just don't create in the final 3rd, despite (sometimes) playing quite well to get the ball there.
We play at home like we are the away team. defend really deep and try to hit them on the counter.
We are able get some decent quality in on loan at the back, Tissard and Minturn but I have been disappointed with the two lads we have had in on loan up front in Seb and Harley. Yes they work hard and run like the wind but they are there to score goals which has not happened.
Think its time we go into loan market again and bring someone in up top who can play along side Fasenmade. Might give Jordon a rest then. He can get fit a come back stronger.
We are going to have a huge captive audience attending the Lincoln game who don't normally attend. Need to get them coming back by playing well and entertaining in the games following the FA Cup (if we lose) ;-)
Concord game will show us where we are.

Amazing contrast really.
I'm in the camp of... it was a dire game, neither team deserved to win or lose, LT had a good game at left-back (considering he's a RB normally) and it's great to see us get it down and try to play, great to see academy prospects with a path to the first-team.
It's been a slow start, possibly a hangover from the play-off run and GH still bedding in with his first pre-season as Chip manager under his belt. Still lots to come from this team and as most have said, get those injured lads back in and you've got a top 10 team imo.

Unlucky last night, it was a good game to watch, and young Leighton making his debut looked very good. Just need some fire power up front.

Little to disagree with the above. A more heartening performance than that against Hendon, with occasional periods ( 15 mins after the break) when we looked well on top, only to let slip our control. Agree, too, with consensus opinion on Leighton Tuodolo and latterly Callum Gunner. I'm a big fan of Harrison Minturn. He may stop the heart occasionally in his insistence on making best use of the ball,, but he always looks to come forward, and made one terrific run in the 2nd half right into their 6 yd box... although, sadly, there was nothing on the end of it. Gary Horgan is pretty much given his cloth, constrained as he is by the playing budget and player availabilty, and, to this observer, does a pretty good job in cutting it into a successful NLS club side. The team's set-up and the way we play is obviously dictated by the players available. Like the slightly undersized duvet anlogy; you either pull it up to your chin and your feet (i.e your defence) are exposed or the reverse .. which means a marked absence of support when we break up field. It's frustrating but probably inevitable. The converse system.. would inevitably mean us shipping more goals. Given just how quickly and ruthlessly Northampton killed the game a few years back, our principal aim on Nov 5th must be to avoid conceding in the first half hour. After that, we'll be in with a shout.. Possibly some 2nd half fireworks, too?

Couldn’t fault the effort last night from the team.Thought despite the covid issue is wasn’t a under strength team. Have noticed recently the number of times we have players blocked off the ball when we are attacking, could be a reason why we don’t get players in the box. Also the linesman in second -half gave a very dubious free kick to Hemel for a nothing challenge.Agree that the missing piece of the jigsaw is a striker, but we knew that at the start of the friendlies.Does anybody know the situation with Will Richards and Will Tizzard on there red cards from the Hendon games. Finally thanks to Tina and her helpers for issuing tickets for the Lincoln game, saved me a journey as I don’t live in Chippenham.

Richards only received a one game ban hence his appearance last night. Tizzard is suspended for three games and assuming we play next Saturday and the following Tuesday he will be available for the Lincoln cup tie!
