An eventful night to say the least. Never expected a classic with so much at stake, and a deflected goal just about summed it up overall. Thought we defended brilliantly and Jordan Young worked his socks off - what a very good footballer he is. Very pleased for the Chairman that we’ve made it through to Round One - what with the wall collapsing and all the other hassle he and the Board have to deal with it’s a just reward.
Well done all.

To say the least we were awful going forward. Thankfully Hendon seemed incapable of getting a shot on target which was luckily for us given the number of times we simply gave them the ball. Baffling how with 15 or so minutes to go we went completely on the defensive playing right into Hendon’s hands. Defence had to play well given they were under constant pressure. Only good thing you can say we won and hopefully play a lot better against Lincoln.
No idea what happened at the end shame as although lots of fouls not really a dirty game.

Well I would be very aggrieved if I was a Hendon supporter. Chippenham were beyond ordinary. Chippenham had absolutely no creativity and I have to question the recruitment. Chippenham risk being severely embarrassed against Lincoln reserves.
Well what with the wall collapsing and the fighting I should imagine there will be repercussions. The stadium is not fit to host a league side.

The inevitable fines for both clubs (from wall collapse and handbags with players and crowd after the whistle) may well outweigh the decent 600+ gate and the win fee. Hendon gave it their all and certainly played better than the league position they currently occupy. Hope we can repair the wall and pass a safety inspection before the Lincoln game. Some TV money would be welcome from the next round.
If true that Tizzard was red carded at the end, does that mean he and Richards now missing at the back?

I didn’t see them tonight, but I was wondering what the Chippenham chap and his two boys (who are life long Lincoln supporters), think about the prospect of playing at Hardenhuish Park?
Not worried one jolt based on tonight’s performance!
An eventful evening. We defended well against a team who I’m told turn up in the cup but go missing in the league. They put us under a lot of pressure but don’t remember any big saves from our keeper throughout.
Going the other way is a problem for us but has been for 3/4 years - loans haven’t solved it and doesn’t seem to be much elsewhere goals wise that we can try and recruit.
Big melee at the end was a shame.

This is only my opinion, but last night it felt more like a Mile Cook team out there - set up to defend at home !
I appreciate we got through, but it was a right old struggle against a good Hendon team. I understand Will King will be out for 2 more weeks with a hamstring issue, and we certainly missed him last night, as he brings bit to the team that was definitely missing in that performance. Lincoln City will be a totally different proposition, and assuming they had representation there at the game, they must be wondering which CTFC will turn up for the game. I sincerely hope it is not the one we watched last night !

Who cares how we played, a match with so much on the line was always going to be a non-event, all this “Hendon looked the NLS team” but Will hardly had a save to make.
Besides, we’re through to the first round after fielding far from our first choice squad in the replay.
By the sounds of some on here, you wouldn’t be happy until we lifted the thing at Wembley!
Bring on Lincoln and another memorable day for OUR football club

Well said 96Chipp - beggars belief how some thought Hendon would come here and just roll over. (But for Will Henry’s penalty save on Saturday we’d be out). Granted we didn’t create a lot going forward, but we’ve clearly got injuries with the new striker on the bench for instance. As for hosting Lincoln, the Northampton game didn’t present too many problems did it? Enjoy being in the first round of the FA Cup folks, it’s a great achievement.

It's cup football and getting through is the whole idea, needed lady luck and we have been very fortunate with the draws too, Sholing, Met Police and Hendon all teams we really should be beating. We are boring to watch and lack any forward threat but as I said we are through. With the well earned winnings I imagine we will see the squad strengthened definitely with forward thinking players. The melee at the end is not what anyone wants to see at a family club, walking down the Bristol Rd I heard a fan say, it was the most exciting part of the night.
